Lando saw it all in her eyes. The raw pain of her parent's betrayal. It was a lot for him to take in, too. First, being accused of cheating, then hearing that his fiancée lost their child unbeknownst to both of them.

He vaguely remembered Aurora telling him she was a few days late on her period but that it was normal since she'd been having a lot of stress with moving countries, and she hadn't taken birth control anymore for the last year and a half.

"Ready to go?" Lando asks. Aurora hadn't moved from her spot on the bed since getting dressed.

She looks up, and she, too, sees it in his eyes. The pain of the unknowing and whatever her parents had said to him, which she didn't know, lingers in his features.

"Yeah," She nods, giving him the tiniest smile. "Let's go talk to them."

Aurora gets up from the bed, walks to Lando at the door, and carefully stretches her arm, gently grabbing his hand and slowly intertwining their fingers. She doesn't dare look at Lando, afraid of the hurt he's going through right now and that he has been going through even more the past couple of days.

Her hand feels warm in his; it has a familiar ring to it. Lando knows he should get his hopes up now, but honestly, her hand felt so good back in his hand.

"Here goes nothing," Aurora exhales deeply before knocking on her parents' door. She looks at Lando, who gave her a reassuring squeeze in her hand.

The door opens in a matter of seconds. Aurora's mother stands tiredly, looking in front of the door, but she gasps, surprised to see her daughter.

"Aurora, thank you for coming."

"Are you going to let us in?" Lando asks, still holding Aurora's hand.

Hastily, Elise steps aside to let the duo in. Theo sits on the little chair, sipping from his coffee. His eyes dartle from his daughter to his former son-in-law.

"Does he need to be here?"

Aurora tries to swallow the lump in her throat. Her hand feels good in Lando's, but still, she slowly lets go of the warmth.

The two look at each other hesitantly. Elise goes to sit next to her husband, and an uncomfortable silence settles in the room.

Lando is the first to break the silence, scrapping his throat doing so, "The child she lost was mine. I think I—"

"Are you sure about that?

"Dad!"

"Excuse you?"

"Theodore Banks!"

The room falls into another silence as the other three simultaneously yell at the older man.

"Are you saying I cheated on Lando?" Aurora is the first to flip her father down.

"He also insisted I cheated on you," Lando snickers. He was about to lose his mind with the crazy allegations Theo had been throwing at him since yesterday.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Aurora was on the edge of breaking down, her voice cracking a clear sign of it.

"Aurora," Theo says firmly but almost in a whisper. "You've been through a lot these past weeks."

"And you are not making it any easier," she bites back. "How can you say I cheated on Lando? Do you hate him?"

"I don't."

"Theo," Elise says, putting a hand on his shoulder. "I think we should just tell them everything. We both know that child was Lando's."

Lando scoffs and rolls his eyes at the obvious. He looks at Aurora, and he sees her eyes filled with tears. But she refuses to let them escape. Aurora doesn't want them to know she is hurt.

Being hurt will show them she is weak, dependent, and in need of protection. Like they have done for too long now.

"We want to know what is happening," Lando says, carefully putting his hand back on Aurora's. I think we both have that right."

Elise nods, "We love you both so much. And we didn't say anything due to the pain it could cause you."

"But you had no issue believing I cheated on Aurora," Lando's anger control is slipping him. The heavy feeling he's had since yesterday night is about to explode.

He has never felt so angry; no one has, not even the media, after a terrible race or after missing points due to a stupid strategy. He always stayed kind, maybe slightly disappointed or with teary eyes in front of the camera, but he remained kind.

"Who even sent those pictures?"

"What photos?" Aurora jumps into the conversation.

Theo grabs the envelope and hands them to his daughter. She hastily opens the paper, and, confused, she looks up at her parents before looking at Lando.

"This is your sister," she says, almost making it sound like a question.

"It is, and still, your parents believed I was cheating on you."

"That is ridiculous."

"And we are sorry," Elise says. "We just wanted to protect you."

"Stop that!"

A silence.

"I don't need your constant protection. I am not a child anymore," Aurora continues her rage. "My memory will come back, and if not, it is not up to you to keep things from me."

Another silence. Aurora's rage was unlike any she had ever felt before, or at least not towards her parents.

Aurora's words hang heavy in the air, echoing in the room as everyone grapples with the weight of her anger and frustration. Lando watches her, his heart aching for the pain she is experiencing. He tightens his grip on her hand, silently offering his support.

Theo and Elise exchanged glances, guilt and regret evident in their eyes. They had thought they were doing what was best for Aurora, but now they could see the damage their actions had caused.

"We are truly sorry, baby," Elise says softly. "We never meant to hurt you."

"But you did," Aurora's voice cracks. "You hurt me, and you hurt Lando. And I don't know if I can forgive you for that."

"Can we at least explain ourselves?"

Aurora bites her lips as she nods. She looks at Lando, the British boy who had barely shared his thoughts, but knowing him, he was drowning in them.

The past few days must have been a personal hell. And if someone would genuinely ask him, Lando would definitely confirm it.

"Look," Elise starts. "We didn't say anything, and we didn't let the nurse tell you anything because we were scared that it would mess up your recovery. You didn't remember Lando, and he never said anything about a pregnancy, so we assumed you either didn't know it yourself or you hadn't told him yet."

"It was quick, the nurse said. You were probably already miscarrying before the accident," Theo continues where his wife left off. "We are sorry, we know it was wrong to keep it to ourselves, but it was in the best interest."

But the silence that filled the room had never been so heartbreaking, and Aurora had never felt so mistreated.
