First time meeting his parents
"Are you sure I look good enough to meet your parents?" Aurora turned around to face her boyfriend.
She just changed into a red cocktail dress. The tailored silhouette highlighted her figure, and the modest V-neckline added a touch of femininity without it being overly underdressed and the fabric, a luxurious blend of silk and satin, shimmered under the dimly lit light of the hotel room.
It was a dress that Lando had bought for her, one she had demanded him to return because the value was twice her entire paycheck. But Lando insisted on her having it and wearing it to his dad's business party later that month.
Aurora had begged Lando to set up a meeting with his parents before the event, but Adam was extremely busy next to Lando's triple header. Long story short, there was no time to meet his parents earlier.
"Baby," Lando was breathless as he laid his eyes on his girlfriend. "You look beyond beautiful."
Her cheeks flushed as she took in the compliment and smiled, "Thank you, Lan."
Lando understood the nerves coursing through Aurora's veins like no other; he had felt them, too, when he was about to meet his girlfriend's parents. Except, maybe the setting had been entirely different.
Aurora turned back to the mirror to check her make-up., Her hands trembled slightly with nerves, and her eyes didn't leave Lando as he got up from the bed and walked over to the girl in red.
"You have nothing to worry about, okay? They are going to adore you," He stated, wrapping his arms around her body and pulling her back against him. "You truly got nothing to worry about. We're having dinner first and then the business event."
"What's the business event even about?"
"You know the electric steps I move around the circuit with, right?" Lando waited for a confirmation nod before continuing, "He's presenting a new model to his business and potential clients."
"So, McLaren is going to be there too?"
"I haven't heard from Zak about it, so I don't think so. But Motorsports, in general, is a client."
Aurora nodded slowly, understanding more and more of the business Adam Norris was in. But he wasn't the only one who she was meeting with. Cisca Wauman, Lando's mother, would be there too, as would his three siblings.
She had asked him all about it. Oliver was the eldest sibling, Flo was younger than Lando, and Cisca was the youngest, named after their mother. She looked forward to meeting them; born as an only child, she did not know what it was like to have siblings.
