Café Rock was Jisung's favourite place to go. And honestly it was understandable. The place was beautiful. It was a bakery cum café and from 8:30 in the morning, when the café opened, amazing aromas of fresh baked bread and chocolate pastries and coffee would fill the air of the entire block, and Jisung would watch, amused, as people came running out of buildings and other shops on the street to get their favourite morning drink or pastry.

The place would be bustling the entire day and while Jisung usually liked the cozy feel of the place, his favourite time to come to Café Rock, was in the evening when there was a significantly less rush and the place was much calmer than in the morning without the harassed office employees and stressed out college kids coming in for their daily dose of caffeine and sugar.

While the mornings made Jisung feel all warm and fuzzy inside, the evenings were what Jisung truly loved. Not only was the place calm enough by then to help him think in peace, it was also reminiscent of all the memories they had shared together.

Minho. Lee Minho. The one person in Jisung's life that Jisung wouldn't trade for the world. The one person Jisung was truly comfortable with and the one person who had also left him, just like everyone else.

It was winter in the second year of Jisung's college. November 7th. A Friday. The last day Jisung saw Minho for a long, long time. The date was still etched into his mind like someone had carved it out in stone.

Jisung thought back to that day, allowing himself a while of indulgence in a memory that he had kept locked safely in the darkest, deepest corners of his mind.

Minho had never told Jisung he would be leaving, Jisung realised. In fact, that day was spent like every other. Bunking Science class together on the rooftop of the school, eating miserable lunches together, walking home using the same familiar detours that allowed them just a little while more of freedom before the day ended.

The only thing missing...... were the late night texts.

Jisung would always text Minho when he couldn't sleep. Which was practically every day. And Minho would reply, every, single time, as diligently and patiently as the last.

That night however, the replies to Jisung's innumerous spammed texts never came. Dismissing the nagging worry in the back of his mind, Jisung consoled himself that Minho had just left his phone on silent and had fallen asleep a little early.

When he didn't get any texts the next day either, Jisung worried a bit. And then a bit more when Sunday came with the same radio silence as the previous two days.

Jisung couldn't wait for Monday to come and go check on Minho to see what was up. But when Monday came, no Minho came with it.

By now Jisung was full on panicking. As soon as he reached home he confronted his parents, in case they knew anything. His mom reassured him that it was probably nothing.

But it wasn't nothing. Jisung knew that.

And he still did to this day, six years later.

Jisung was a very pessimistic person by nature. And even though by now he had come to terms with the fact that there was a less that 1% chance that he would see Minho again in this lifetime, it didn't stop him from remembering all the memories they had shared together in this café.

"Hyung! Let me study! Just because you've finished all your assignments doesn't mean I have!" Jisung sighed tiredly as he felt Minho poke his side for the hundredth time that evening.

"But Sungie..." Minho pouted. "I need attention too. Don't waste all your time on that stupid assignment"
