"Why don't we go out on a date?"

"Why don't we not?"

Minho sighed over the call, and Jisung could almost picture the older running a hand through his caramel hair, done with the younger's petty antics.

Not that Jisung cared. It had been forty two days since Jisung had officially met his soulmate and while he had developed a tiny crush on the obviously very attractive older and they had exchanged numbers too, that didn't mean Jisung wasn't bitter about his soulmate not loving his first love.

Petty as that was, Jisung was ready to be just a little more difficult before he finally gave in to his rapidly evolving crush.

"It's been so many days since I've seen my lovely soulmate, Hannie" Minho whined, over the call, using a nickname he had been the first to invent for the younger.

Jisung opened a packet of chips, squishing the phone next to his ear and cheek. "It's just been forty two days, what are you on about?" He asked, rolling his eyes.

A beat of silence. The packet of chips almost fell from Jisung's hands.

Fuck, Jisung thought. Why did I say that?

"That was a very specific number of days, Hannie" Came a very annoyingly self satisfied voice from over the call. Jisung felt about ready to punch something.

"Does that mean you miss me?"

Jisung put the call on mute, screamed silently into his pillow, then unmuted himself. "No."

"A date it is then!" Minho exclaimed, not fooled for a second by Jisung's flimsy composure. "Wear something casual. I'll pick you up today at six. Bye Hannie."

"Wait-" Jisung started, but the call ended before he could get another word out. The boy looked down at the blank screen of his phone, the chips long forgotten.

"LIX I NEED HELP!'

Six o clock came. And with it, so did Jisung's anxiety. As well as the doorbell.

"Hello, soulmate."

Minho, leaned against the doorframe, dressed in a white cardigan and brown pants, a small smile on his face as he watched Jisung fidget nervously before him, trying, and failing to hide his flustered state.

"Hi"

"Ready to go?"
"Yeah"

Minho opened the door to the passenger seat, holding it open till Jisung got in, before closing the door and getting into the driver's seat.

"Where are we going?" The younger asked, after a minute of silence.

Minho cast a sidelong grin. "Surprise."

The younger rolled his eyes. Half an hour passed with questionable song choices, some middle fingers at passing cars, and surprisingly companiable silence.

Until Minho backed into the parking lot of a familiar cafe.

Jisung's eyes narrowed as soon as he saw the sign. "You brought me here on purpose."

"I did."

"Do you want to haunt me while alive?"

"I'm your soulmate. I'm obliged to do that."

Jisung groaned. Then groaned again when he felt his heart skip a beat on hearing Minho's laugh.

The two got down from the car— Minho escorting Jisung out, of course— and they entered the cafe. Wordlessly, the older led Jisung to the same exact table the two had sat at the first time they had bumped into each other.
