I had stayed up with Gabi to make sure that she wouldn't sleep through her call time and drove her to Val and Jenna's at 4:30am, so I was still tired when I woke at 11am. I checked my phone and saw that I had a message from Jenna and a DM from Tom. I opened the text Jenna first.

Hey Ivy! Val and Gabi just got back from the press tour,
and they passed out almost immediately lol.
Do you mind if we drop her off after she wakes up or
do you want to pick her up?

Ivy

Hey Jen! I don't want to wake her,
so if you wouldn't mind dropping her off,
that would be amazing.

About an hour later, Tom and I were sitting in the diner, waiting on our food.

"You know your eyes are really mesmerizing," Tom said randomly. I blushed, and he laughed slightly, "I'm serious. They're like deep clear oceans. So calming."

"I like your eyes, too. They're like a mystery that I want to solve," I smiled. Our eyes met, and I got lost in them. Just being with him put me at ease and never before in my past relationships have I felt this before. It was just so easy with Tom. 

We broke out mini staring contest when our waitress brought out our order, digging in once we thanked her. We ate in a comfortable silence until Tom asked, "I've been curious. How long have you been Gabriella's guardian?"

I whipped my mouth and answered, "A little over four years. Her parents died a few weeks after my 18th birthday, but since we had become like a family, they added a contingency to their will that gave me custody of Gabi upon my 18th birthday should they pass."

"Wow. How did you guys even meet?"

"We were on a reboot of Boy Meets World together, and her parents noticed that I was the only minor without my parents on set since I was about 13 or 14 the time. Once I explained that I was emancipated, they became huge advocates for me and like a real family."

"That's amazing."

"Yeah. It probably saved me so many times from being taken advantage of," I said, smiling fondly. I looked down at my phone and saw that text from Gabi came through a few minutes ago saying that she was on her way home. "Speak of the devil. I should head back now."

"Ok. I'll walk you to your car." We argued over the bill for a few minutes before Tom payed it. 

"I'll get it next time," I said, playfully rolling my eyes.

"They'll be a next time?" he asked coyly. 

"Thats up to you." Leaving him with that, I hopped into my car and drove back home, the smile never leaving my face the entire way.
