for christmas and then coming back so that 

we could be together for our first new years. 

but what if you and gabi came with me?

i also had another thought 

since, birmingham isn't far from paris, 

i was planning on buying gabi tickets for christmas 

since you told me that she's always wanted to go

i just wanted to check that it was ok with you before i did it

A week and a half later, we were on a plane to Birmingham to spend the holidays with Tom's family. Gabi was across the aisle and had the row to herself, so she quickly made herself comfortable. Tom and I were cuddled up in our row watching Captian America: The Winter Solider. I was a little nervous, and Tom noticed and paused the movie. 

He grabbed my hands, "Don't worry love. They're going to love you."

I hesitated. "But what if they don't."

He gently grabbed my head in his hands, "They will love you. Just like love you."

My eyes softened, "You love me?"

"I know it's too soon, and we haven't been dating that long, but I love you. You don't have to say it back, but" before he could finish, I smashed our lips together.

When we pulled apart, I said, "I love you, too."

If you're wondering what I edited or changed, I did not realize that Tom's father had passed in 2010. I might give Tom a step-father, but it's just based on how the next chapter flows as I write it.
