"what's your name?" the blank expression look was on the receptionist as it was clear that she was having a long day and she must have been going through a lot.
"it should be registered as dawn wang, if not then my full name is chai lueangsuwan-wang." the receptionist gave a look of confusion as she was shocked to see the long last name he had, it was common for thai natives as they've found it normal and were raised with these names.
"yep i've found you, please head to the room on your right and if you could please get ready for recording?" the receptionist put on a fake smile as it was mandatory to have good service as they wanted a good image despite being forced.
as dawn entered the room on his right, there was still no one. he expected to see at least some other trainees unless he was the first trainee to arrive or he got scammed and he's being held captive right now without even knowing. despite that, he thought positive and kept walking until he headed up in the room.
there he saw a bright room full with the colours of blue and pink, there he realised that he was given a name tag. "dawn wang" with hangul writing for the koreans to read, as he went further down he noticed a sign:
"please place the amount of stars that you think you're skills are at." seeing that, dawn thought about the amount of trainings he's had and knew that he's done enough but there was room for improvement so he placed on three stars as he wants to work for the last star.
some of the staff looking at him were talking about how cute he was, and indeed he was cute but he's never expected this as back in china he was the older brother who would have to take care of his siblings and look after the family store all the time and never in his life was he called cute but only hard working and kind.
i guess the standards were different in other countries, meanwhile other trainees were already in the stadium anxiously waiting for more trainees to enter.
dawn waited for the signal to enter, he was anxious as he could hear the chatter between the trainees who were already inside. he wanted to make a good first impression, but he didn't want to seem too overconfident or fans might call that out as some people hate that.
as the staff gave him the signal, he slowly walked up and the door opened slowly for dramatic effects. as the door slowly opened, the trainees found out that whoever was coming out was from thailand. when a figure could be seen, everyone went silent waiting to see who this person was but everyone was shocked to see him.
"HES SO CUTE!"
"He doesn't look thai?"
as dawn made it to the centre of the stage, he looked over at the view and noticed everyone staring at him. i guess that was normal since he was on the stage and that was something expected. however as he tried looking for a seat, he noticed that majority of the seats were filled up as apparently he was the last trainee no wonder why he barely saw anyone.
to his luck, there was a seat next to a group of four who looked quite intimidating but he somewhat recognised one of them. he's seen him before but he doesn't know where, but it didn't matter since he had to make his way there. to his surprise, the four of them welcomed him with smiles as they made way for him.
one of them read his name tag and asked if he was also chinese as he had a chinese last name.
"i'm mixed, my mums chinese and my dads thai. i actually lived in china for all of my life until now." dawn told them as they seemed like they could tell, according to one of them they had a bet on what nationality dawn was and the blonde tall one got it correct.
"im zhang hao, the one on the far right is brian. the one that guessed your nationality right is ricky, and the one on the far left is ollie. i think ollie is shy, he's normally talkative." dawn looked at his far left and introduced himself to ollie who also smiled at him, it was obvious he was shy.
according to zhang hao, everyone was shocked to see him as they were all expecting someone tall so when they saw him they were on the verge of screaming.
dawn laughed at this, and noticed that he was quite high up. why didn't he notice this earlier, he had a huge fear of heights so i guess he was stuck in this seat until everyone was done performing. he looked over and noticed ricky waving to some guys from the korean group, i guess they were friends from somewhere.
time was given to get to know those who were around you so dawn tried his best but he couldn't stop thinking about the height. he would occasionally give short answers as he was struggling to talk especially whenever he would look straight and all he saw a dip but in reality it wasn't that tall.
he really needed someone to hold his hand as his heartbeat was going insane and at times like this, his mum would be at his side while singing for him which comforted him. and at that moment, someone held his hands and started asking if he was okay.
zhang hao looked at him as he noticed how badly dawn was sweating, dawn didn't want to say what was really going on as he didn't want to cause any commotion but as hao was holding his hands, it gave him time to breathe properly until he could get back to his pace.
finally, he was able to get his pace back and he acted as if everything was okay. however hao was feeling suspicious on him as he knew something wasn't right but he didn't want to get all in his business since they've only met just now. but hao felt like he's known this guy before, his hands felt similar to someone's he's known before however he couldn't get it in his head on who it was.
they've had a connection before, what was it. and why was it so comforting for dawn, he's definitely met him before or was it their past life that's met paths. whatever it was, dawn felt safe with him despite only if he's met him that moment and from that moment, dawn knew he would have to stick with him.
