Its not fair how people get treated in the districts weather it's money, clothes, health, stance, they still get rested unequal.
Everyone was the same the capital and the districts were the same it wasn't fair.cIt wasn't fair people are people. Well at least that's what one would think a single person feels the pain on others so why do people do it? its not fair nothings fair.
Life wasn't fair.
The reaping day came quicker than it should've. Juni was a mess, his nightmares had came back worse than before, he wouldn't eat, sleep, bathe, or even speak anymore.
Alaric had never seen him so vulnerable in years and it was terrifying to her to see the now 15 year old remember things from when he was 12 years old.
It's funny it was only three years ago but it still felt like forever ago that it happened. The two hadn't said a word to each other since the announcement from President Snow.
Alaric wasn't to worried about Juni given the fact there were three other male victors from District 11 that were alive. But Alaric was the only female victor so she knew it didn't matter how much hope she had she would be forced back into games again.
Alaric walked into Juni's room, it was a mess all the posters had been ripped off and the shelves were on the floor and there was broken glass everywhere.
"I was gonna clean it." Juni spoke from the doorway wiping his nose. "The reaping is in an hour." Alaric dropped her head hating how exhausted Juni sounded.
"You'll win." Juni stated looking almost determined "I know you will no matter what it takes you'll win. You have to." Juni finished his voice cracking.
"Not if your name gets called." Alaric argued standing up, "if your name gets called I need you to promise me you'll hide like last time." Alaric put both hands on the boys cheeks a serious look.
"Okay." Juni sighed his eye still bloody from the beating by the peacekeepers from a few days ago. The two were interrupted when the sound of door opening echoed.
Alaric walked into the leaving room seeing the peacekeepers. "Come on Jun." Alaric mumbled following the peacekeepers out of the house.
How does one react when they have been trying so hard to move forward only to be pulled right back into the past. It's not easy I can tell you that.
"Welcome. Welcome." Alexandra grinned wearing a very tacky outfit. Alaric much rather preferred Effie's sense of style over Alexandra's. Along with Effie's personality over Alexandra's
"As we celebrate the 75th anniversary and 3rd Quarter Quell of The Hunger Games." Alexandra laughed her eyes almost sparkling it was one of the many many things Alaric didn't like about Alexandra
Alaric wore her hair down over her shoulder, wearing black pants along with a black tank top and a bulky leather jacket.
"Stand straight." Alaric's mother Snow scowled as they walked into the line. "Shoulders back chin up my love." Snow smiled
Alaric took a breath putting her chin up and standing straight.
"Welcome, welcome, welcome." A woman grinned "Happy hunger games and may the odds be ever in your favor."
"I just love that." The woman smiled "now the time has come for us to select one courteous young man and woman for the honor of representing district 11 in the 70th annual hunger games as usual ladies first."
"As always, ladies first." Alexandra giggled a walking over to the bowl. Everyone already knew whose name would be pulled but what surprised them was how calm Alaric was.
