1 - Shortcut

Fuck!

Jungkook cursed himself.

Jungkook thought he was really smart when he decided to spent some time studying the maps on Google Maps trying to find out an alternative route to go back to Seoul.

Not exactly a shortcut, he thought. A shortcut is generally as accessible as the main highway route, and he knew that both routes would be jammed with the upcoming holiday (an experience similar to the one he had last year). So he decided to analyze the map in each detail and make his own route, certain that it would be a smooth and hassle-free journey. Oh.

Jungkook had already done the Busan – Seoul / Seoul – Busan route countless times in the last few years and he drives comfortably on the roads. He knew little shortcuts, he knew where to find good cheap ramen, which store had the cleanest and most comfortable bathroom for times of need and, most importantly, which spots to avoid during days of heavy traffic (like today).

Everything went as planned, the black haired boy drove uninhibited while humming to the deafening music inside his car when he was suddenly interrupted by a noise requesting a video call. Obviously it was Jimin.

"Sorry, Jimin! I totally forgot!", he defended himself.

"It doesn't surprise me anymore, you know? If I don't call you, I won't hear from you for weeks" complained the blonde.

"Don't be dramatic.." provoked the younger.

The friends continued on video call for about an hour until a low battery alert popped for Jungkook, the boys said their goodbyes promising to meet on next day and ended the call. Jungkook was already distracted by a car full of stickers in front of him and while reading the endless cringe sentences and chucked to himself, he forgot to recharge his phone.

It would be crucial to the upcoming event.

The plan was to avoid Daegu and its surroundings, so Jungkook began his journey along the contours of the big city, passing through small friendly towns, feeling tempted to stop at each small establishment to try the food.

In the end, he just bought a large iced americano and a bottle of water and continued his journey.

Back on the road he was impressed seeing the vast farms and plantations so close to Seoul, he had no idea that there were such green landscapes nearby and observed it with awe and a big smile on his face.

What a perfect trip.
