Jungkook is in his car resuming his trip to Seoul after replying twenty-eight messages from Jimin who went in his apartment and when couldn't find him almost called the police to go after the younger.
He couldn't wipe the smile off his face remembering the last moments at the Kim farm. After returning to Taehyung's house both boys had some late breakfast together and talked about the most random subjects, the talk between them flowed naturally.
Something unusual for Jungkook, as he takes some time to get along with new people and tries to keep his social circle more closed. But Taehyung was so easy to talk with, he felt comfortable with the older boy.
Taehyung asked to see the pictures the younger took of him, but Jungkook said that would ruin the surprise. Instead, he asked for the boy's phone number so he could send the photos when they were ready.
Oh, the idea of asking for Taehyung's contact came before the idea of giving the boy a photoshoot, but he needed an excuse.
And what better excuse than photographing the boy? Now in addition to having the brunette's phone number, he also had, like, A LOT of photos of the boy.
But don't overthink it, Jungkook was just amazed at how the camera loves Taehyung, obviously.
He remembers asking Taehyung if he goes to Seoul often, just as a way to start a conversation; The boy said he goes to the capital city every other week to attend some sort of class. Good. Important information.
While lost in his thoughts about the events of the last 24 hours, almost two hours passed and Jungkook arrived at his condo.
He grabbed his backpack from the car and his small suitcase and headed to the elevator, pressing the number seventeen, leaning his back against the cold metal wall and going back to think about today. He couldn't stop thinking about it.
A few moments later the elevator reached his floor and he walked out into the hallway towards the door of his apartment. He swipes his card key in the door lock and was about to open it when he hears a door open behind him.
"JEON PARK MIN JUNGKOOK!"
Jimin, of course.
"Now please care to explain exactly where the hell have you been? Yeah, because a five-word response to my messages didn't do it", Jimin said while angrily gesturing his (small) hands.
"Can we go inside first? Jeez... and I'll take the Min but please drop the Park. And how did you know that I was here? Creep stalker", Jungkook said as he finally opened the door to his apartment, gesturing for Jimin to go inside first and following behind.
"Those damn combat boots are loud, I can hear your footsteps while you're still in the parking lot. Now, what happened? I was worried! Yoongi stopped me from calling your parents and the police, according to him you are a grown man but I disagree."
Yoongi. Jimin and him were total opposites. While Jimin was noisy, laughed loudly, clumsy, extroverted and always in a good mood, Yoongi was quiet, introverted, methodical and you better avoid him before lunch hours. In some way or because of this they complement each other. Yin-Yang, with Jimin and his platinum blonde hair being the white part and Yoongi with his long black hair being the dark part. Jimin was Jungkook's roommate, but now he lives with his boyfriend in the apartment across the hall.
"He's right, can't I even spend the night out with three chicks and pass out while snorting cocaine and having kinky sex?"
"Huh, your gay ass? I mean, the cocaine is believable but chicks? C'mon".
Jungkook then briefly explained about the problem with his car, how he was adrift in the middle of a winterstorm and how he was rescued by a prince—, I mean, a young local farmer who kindly offered him a room to spend the night and, on top of that, repaired his car.
"My God, koo! Are you okay? And why are you smiling while telling me this awful episode?"
"It wasn't all bad, I mean, the guy who helped me is pretty cool (emphasis on pretty, he thought). Plus it was his birthday and I ended the night eating cake and drinking wine. Felt like a good day off. Anyways, about today... what time are we leaving for the event? I really need to take a nap before it", Jungkook glanced at the clock and it said 6:47 PM.
The company's big New Year's Eve event. Oh, how he wanted to drop it and sleep throughout the New Year's Eve, but as one of the main photographers he was in charge of photographing all the guests (managers, models, partners and a bunch of other boring people) while they get drunk and pretended to be happy and love everyone around.
And avoid photographing couples making out on the halls, balconies, bathrooms and other very creative places.
"Take your nap Kook, rest well cause we have time. The company is very close and the other photographers will be there early to capture the beginning of the party. The master Jungkook can go later. We leave around 10 ok? Kisses and bye, eat something!"
As soon as Jimin left, Jungkook headed to the bathroom for a quick shower (the mint and cucumber soap bringing memories), then prepared an instant ramen as a well-deserved dinner and went to bed to his nap, not before grabbing his camera and having another look through his photos.
Taehyung really charmed him, and not just because of his beauty. But mostly for his kindness and personality. Even after a tiring day working until dusk, on his birthday, the boy welcomed and sheltered a complete stranger in his home, making him feel comfortable and wanted as if he was a real guest in his birthday party.
He did much more than expected, taking care of the smallest details like preparing tea, opening a white wine just for him because he doesn't like red wine, taking time to prepare the room (such an intimate room with memories of the boy's youth), the attempt to wash his clothes (the memory brought a smile to Jungkook's face), repairing the car, putting his phone to recharge, giving Jungkook a piece of the birthday cake to bring on the trip, among many other small details.
Jungkook should avoid thinking so much about the boy, now he just wanted to have a friendship and keep in touch with Taehyung, but this could easily turn into something more. Easily.
And he didn't even know if Taehyung likes boys... at first, when Jin arrived and threw suspicious looks and a series of questions at him in an almost interrogatory and hostile way, Jungkook thought that the two boys could be more than friends.
Jin was overprotective and was visibly uncomfortable with his presence.
But after seeing the picture in Taehyung's room, where the teenager boy was kissing a girl on the cheek, he thought she could be his girlfriend.
Taehyung could be straight, or he could be with Jin. He wasn't single, anyway. A good beautiful man like that is always taken. Jungkook better off not think about him in this way.
But it's ok, he only wants a new refreshing friend anyway.
To stop overthinking Jungkook left the camera on the empty side of the bed and wrapped himself in the sheets to rest for the event later.
