They are not okay.

Taehyung has closed himself off, he tried not to get caught in the whirlwind of emotions that engulfed him that night and succeeded, as a consequence his feelings seem to have been sent to limbo. He's just an empty shell.

His last shred of pride urged him to leave, Jungkook asked him to leave with all the letters. That hurt him deeply. Suddenly, he feels like an uninvited guest, an annoying friend who stayed over at the rich friend's house too many times.

But he's also afraid. Afraid that if he walks out that door, it might be the last time. And if he had any shame or pride, it should be the last time.

Afraid that leaving through that door might mean the end of their relationship. But it's already over, isn't it? Too serious accusations were made, disrespectful statements. Why would Jungkook want to continue dating Taehyung if he believes he was cheated on?

And why would Taehyung continue a relationship after Jungkook repeatedly said he misses fucking his ex?

The constant arguments and lack of trust were undermining their relationship and that was probably the breaking point.

Taehyung agreed to stay that night after Jungkook apologized, but now it's already daytime. He only realized it when a ray of sunshine hit his eyes while he was detached from his body, looking at nothing in particular. He's sitting on the guest room bed, his back against the headboard. Next to him, Jungkook snores softly, holding Taehyung's right hand with both of his.

They didn't talk anymore last night, Taehyung became apathetic and Jungkook just stayed by his side holding him until he fell asleep, maybe afraid that he would leave.

But it's time now. Taehyung gets up, brushes his teeth, writes a note and leaves the apartment with his things.

.

"We need some time apart. Take a few days to think about us, I'll do the same.

Love you, -T"

Jungkook wakes up with a heavy feeling in his chest, the emptiness beside him in bed hits him like a punch. He reads Taehyung's note, the handwritten words seem to weigh tons. The apartment is silent and cold.

He gets up, looking out the window. The sun is high in the sky, but everything seems bleak. He didn't want it to come to this, didn't want Taehyung to leave. But his thoughtless words, the anger, and the distrust, all of it pushed them towards the abyss.

He blames himself. Blames himself for not controlling his emotions, for not trusting Taehyung. He blames himself for not realizing how hurt Taehyung was.

Me:
Tae, we need to finish our conversation. I know I messed up, but I love you. I don't want to lose you. Can we meet?

He sends the message and waits, his heart tight. He doesn't know if Taehyung will respond, if he'll give them a chance to fix what's broken. But he's willing to fight, to confront his own demons and insecurities, if it means having Taehyung back.

While he waits, he looks at the note left on the table. "Love you, -T." The words are simple, but carry the weight of the world. He just hopes Taehyung can forgive him, that they can find a way back to each other.
