Slowly I opened my eyes. The weight of an arm was still draped across me. I rolled over only to see bright green eyes starring back at me.
"Sterling." I whispered. He laid there and watched me. His only movement was the quick blink of his eyes. "What are you doing in my bed?"
"Ashley said you threw up last night and then fell asleep in her car. I was worried and came over to help Ashley get you in your house and to bed."
"I'm wearing pajamas, who changed me?" I asked, a light blush filled my cheeks.
"Ashley did of course. She left after that. I locked the doors and laid down beside you for a while. I must have fell asleep." He said sheepishly.
"I need to talk to you about a few things."
"Okay." Slowly, as if it pained him, he removed his arm. I sat up only to see my reflection in the mirror. My hair was a mess and my face looked a bit oily.
"Can I wash up first?" I asked looking towards him. He was already out of the bed and pulling his shirt on. I caught a glimpse of his chest, the claw mark long gone.
"Yeah that's fine. I can wait." Quickly I ran to the bathroom and cleaned myself up. I made sure to brush my teeth extra good. Sterling already had to put up with my morning breath, I don't think he could handle that much longer. After changing into jeans and a t-shirt I made my way into my room. The bed was made and Sterling was gone. I quickly brushed through my wet hair and placed it into a messy bun on top of my head. Taking the stairs two at a time I made my way to the kitchen. Sterling stood with his back towards me while cooking something on the stove.
"Whatcha' cooking?" I asked while grabbing two cups from the cabinet.
"It's a secret." He smiled. I frowned seeing those blasted shades on him. "What?" He asked.
"You're wearing shades in the house?" I asked a bit annoyed. I poured us both a glass of milk.
"Sorry, I told myself I'd take them off before you got done." I frowned once more.
"Why do you need them anyways? We're in a house." He sighed but took the shades off.
"Can we talk about this later?" He asked now a bit fidgety.
"Okay, sorry." He nodded. I leaned over and looked into the small sauce pan. He lightly stirred a creamy thick soup like substance.
"Are you trying to poison me?" This made him laugh.
"You have no idea what I'm doing, do you?"
"Honestly no. Neither my father or I know how to do much in a kitchen. We usually eat take out."
"Use your nose. What do you smell." I sniffed making my stomach growl loudly. My cheeks warmed as Sterling began to chuckle at me.
"I smell something good that's for sure! Hmm, I think it's cinnamon?" He nodded.
"Check the oven." I walked to the oven and opened it to see homemade cinnamon buns. The smell hit me full force causing my mouth to water.
"These are my favorite! How did you know?"
"I didn't. These are my favorite! My mom taught me how to make them. Right now I'm making my own sugary frosting." He wiggled his brows making me laugh. "So what did you want to talk about? If it's about waking up to me in bed with you, I'm sorry. Honestly I was planning on going to the couch but I must have dozed off."
"No, no! That's not what this is about." He relaxed a bit. I couldn't possibly tell him that I woke up and actually enjoyed being in his arms. No, admitting that said a lot that I wasn't ready to come to terms with. "No actually it's about us, I mean our date Friday." He stopped stirring and looked at me with a frown.
