I thought the drive to Ashley's would be exciting. It wasn't even two minutes later when we pulled off my road and onto a private one. I turned to her with my mouth hung open.

"You never mentioned us practically being neighbors!" I exclaimed. Ashley chuckled.

"It was never brought up. I can't believe you didn't realize that your ma- man was living so close to you." She winked. Ignoring the heat now crawling up my face, I looked at her curiously. I caught the little slip up but what was she really going to say? "I'm teasing Sky, don't look so serious." She smiled. I laughed and watched as the paved road turned to gravel and then to grass.

As I looked up at the house I softly gasped. It was beautiful. The lush green grass was chopped short with rose bushes planted in flowerbeds around the house, their velvet color matched the shutters and front door. The house it's self was two levels. Glass windows sparkled in the sunlight making the house seem unreal. "Wow. Your house is beautiful!"

"Thanks, since my mom retired she took up exterior decorating. Sterling and Brody planted those roses for her as a surprise when we got here. She already painted the exterior as you can tell." We pulled up in front of the house and got out. Ash helped me carry my bags to the front door. As she opened the front door she quickly turned around and faced me. "I forgot to mention that you were coming over." My eyes grew wide with panic.

"You're telling me that you didn't ask your parents if I could come over?" Ash frowned and then began to laugh.

"What? No. I asked them, they don't care. I just forgot to mention it to Sterling. I can't wait to see his reaction to seeing you!" She squealed. I don't know why she thinks there's something going on between the two of us. I rolled my eyes and motioned to the door. "Oh yeah, let's go inside now!" She opened the door more to allow me entrance.

When I walked in the house it wasn't at all what I was expecting. I had expected crystal lamps with clean white sofas and expensive tiled floors. What I saw was just the opposite. There in the front living room was a broken chandelier, a blue old looking couch with a matching recliner, and dark hard wood floors filled with pizza boxes and candy rappers, but that wasn't what shocked me.

I laughed and dropped my bags on the floor while covering my mouth. For the love of all things good I couldn't hold back the raging laughter. The scene in front of me froze. Three set of eyes and a pair of sunglasses turned their gaze to me looking even more shocked than myself. As the TV blared the most recent superhero movie, a shirtless Matthew, Brayden, and Brody was dog piled on the blue couch fighting over who would get the half eaten snickers that Matthew held out away from the other two boys.

Ashley walked in and stopped to stare at the boys as well. A shirtless Sterling sat in the recliner looking in my direction. His mouth was slightly open as if he wanted to say something. "Hey guys! This is-"

"Skylar!" Matthew and Brayden beamed.

"Skylar, baby!" Brody shouted while trying to grab the snickers bar. Before an angry looking Sterling could say something Matthew interrupted.

"How do you know Sky?" He asked. Brody's cheeks reddened a bit.

"You know that girl that tasered me? That was Skylar." The boys began to laugh but Sterling looked as if he was concentrating on something important. I couldn't help but stare at the chiseled muscles on show.

"You tasered my brother?" Ashley laughed pulling my focus off him and onto her.

"Yeah, about that, I'm really sorry. I didn't actually mean to." Brady waved me off as if it wasn't a big deal.

"What do you mean baby?" Sterling asked, still behind on the subject. He stood up from the recliner. His chest moving up and down a bit too fast. Brody quickly detangled himself from Matthew and Brayden and stood up with palms raised to Sterling.
