I was lost. Completely lost. The eyes I so desperately wanted to see this whole week were staring straight back at me. Everything felt right. Vivid deep green eyes pierced through my soul. I couldn't bring myself to look away. It felt as if I could stay here all day, but then I felt a familiar pain in my side.
I was planning on ignoring the sharp pain but then it hit me again but a bit harder. I tried to clear my mind but I couldn't. I was hypnotized by his beauty. I was afraid that if I blinked he would disappear. Pulling my eyes away from his, I began to scan the rest of his face. It was as if I was truly seeing him for the first time. His sharp jawline was covered in dark stubble, his brows famed his bright eyes, and his lashes were the perfect length. He was beautiful yet held a power that told me he was also dangerous. Gang. The word floated around in my head.
My mind began to wake up from the fog it had been in. Then that familiar pain stroked again. Air. My eyes widened in panic when I realized what my body was trying to tell me. Though it was hard, I managed to pull my eyes off him. Using his shoulders I pushed off him and swam to the surface. Breaking through I gasped for air.
"What were you two doing down there?" Ashley called out from the other side of the lake. My cheeks grew very hot. I could just imagine how red they were. Within a millisecond Sterling joined me. He wasn't gasping for air though. He smiled and pulled me closer to him. My cheeks felt as if they were on fire.
"Hi." Was all my mind could come up with as my blush grew even darker. He chuckled causing my insides to squirm with delight. His thumb rubbed against my skin, inviting me to stay pressed up against him. Before either one of us could speak a word, a scream left my lips as a force lifted me out of the water.
"Brody!" I screamed. Sterling and Brody began to laugh. I was now seated on his shoulders, holding on for dear life.
"Let's play a game!" He shouted causing Ashley and Matthew to swim over and join us.
"Put me down!" I hollered. I squeezed Brody's neck with my thighs as I pulled his hair trying to retain my balance.
"Ouch! Don't pull the hair!" He shouted then went under causing me to go as well. I managed to kick him in the back of the head as I swam back up to the surface.
"Who's ready for a little fun?" Brayden shouted from the bank, beside him stood a short red head who had a navy blue two piece on and a tall blonde who wore a bright pink bikini a bit too small. Everyone hollered in excitement as I eyed the girls who were now entering the water.
"The red head is Jenny, she's Brayden's girlfriend. She's shy. The blonde is Lexi. She's...lets just say she's not shy. Both of them are a year older than us. If I'm not mistaken they went to school with you last year." Ashley whispered. As I studied them a bit more I found them becoming familiar. Jenny was the valedictorian. Quiet and sweet. Lexi was a different story. I remember Marcy always complaining about her cheer captain Alexis and how awful she was to the younger girls on the team. She also mentioned how whorish Alexis was. Now that I think about it Lexi looks a lot like Alexis.
"Matthew!" I watched as Lexi splashed through the water to Matthew. When she reached him she hugged him but didn't receive a hug back. A throat cleared and all heads turned to Ashley who was now throwing a death glare at Lexi. Getting the hint, Lexi removed herself from Matthew. Lexi then turned in mine, Ashley's, and Sterling's direction. "Hello Sterling." She purred as she swam closer. Before she could reach us Sterling quickly moved behind me and pulled me flush with himself.
"Satan is approaching." Brody whispered quietly.
"Lexi." Sterling called out in a monotoned voice. I couldn't see the facial expressions he used for the fact that my back was pressed against his chest but I could tell that he didn't like her either. Lexi stopped a few feet away when she realized I was in the way of her and her prey. Her bikini shifted a bit and I wanted to cover my eyes in case it decided to pop off. She quickly adjusted it and made a show of it purposely in front of Sterling and I. When she finished she looked to me.
