Chapter 9

'what the fuck was that man?' Jay's usual cheerful manner gone and instead the predator that lurked within all of us close to the surface, 'that was 10 on the fucking stupid scale, didn’t you stop to think she's gonna analyze that whole fucking situation every chance she gets, she's gonna work out what you just did wasn’t normal, she's not stupid she already knows somethings up I can smell her fear.' A mumble of grunts and yeah's from the other men had Blaise cringing, he knew it was so stupid to get involved especially for a human, but not one part of him could have let her die, just the idea had his jaguar growling, he was already trying to control him, restrain him, his jaguar didn’t like being scolded as if he was a child, he wanted to fight for dominance, he was a natural born leader. Clenching his fists Blaise bit out through clenched teeth 'I couldn’t let her die' that was all he could manage and it was the truth, his voice was barely more then a rough growl, each word rumbling out of his throat. He was shaking with rage and very real fear. Rage at Rosa for being so fucking stupid and risking her life and fear that he could have lost her when he had never really had the chance to have her. The recent threat to his mate and the combination of uselessness and anger at being wrong made a very lethal Blaise. He had to chant over and over in his head that these men were his friends and were only helping him before his Jaguar tore them to pieces. Calming him self he took deep breaths, he too could smell Rosa's fear as well as the other men's weariness it wasn’t as strong coming from the men, they weren’t scared of him he would never hurt them he hoped, he knew they were scared of his shifting. It would be a very stupid thing to do right now. Not with Rosa slowly climbing back up to them. They could all hear her soft grunts and the sound of her skin brushing the trees bark as she climbed. Blasie had to almost plant his feet in to the ground in order to stop himself from rushing over and carrying her back up, that would be another stupid thing to do. He had almost shifted when he had seen the blood and cuts marring Rosa's perfect skin. He had felt so many emotions he thought he would burst, the first being happiness that he had saved her and amazement that she was actually in his arms, she had smelt like heaven and he had felt like he had died, the lust had hit him hard, instantly hardening him, her sweet scent letting him know she was turned on also was almost too much to handle, he wanted nothing more to  then to sink in to her. Her soft fleshy curves pressed in tight to his own body was like nothing he had ever felt before. Then intense anger that she would risk her precious life like that, know that he had met her, he was sure he was addicted to her, she had never spoken two words to him, but he craved her like a drug. He couldn't lose her, he knew he had been harsh, they were his first words to her, and they were vicious but what was he supposed to do, she had to know she couldn't do that, not to him, he didn’t think he would have made it. His jaguar had growled a protest at the though of losing her, and he agreed wholeheartedly. Seeing her small bruised hand grasp the tree from over the edge had him visibly relaxing letting out a breath he didn’t know he had been holding, him and his friends all waited to see what would happen next.

Dawson watched the small woman walking ahead of them, she was graceful and steady, moving with confidence, he had no idea how she could have fallen, by the way she was moving he knew she could handle her self and was comfortable in the rainforest, she must have been really distracted he thought as he switched his gaze to Blaise, smirking to himself as he watched Blaise frown and glare every time Rosa would disappear from view for even a second, his gaze was so intent on her he looked funny Dawson thought. It was strange to see one of his friends so enamored over some woman. Especially Blaise the man was like stone always emotionless, this should be interesting he said as he watched the way Blaise took a sudden step forward his hand going to the hilt of his knife, glancing forward Dawson saw Rosa bend to pick up something on the floor, it was a small flower, he turned his gaze back to Blasie to see he had relaxed slightly, what the hell did he think would happen to her if she bent to pick a flower. He shook his head, that man was whipped and he didn’t even know it, how was that even possible without two people even touching or saying more then a sentence to each other. He didn't know but he sure as hell hoped it didn’t happen to him. Deciding Blaise needed payback for his recklessness earlier he quickened his pace slightly earning quizzical looks from the others and one very suspicious one from Blasie, smirking back at him he continued his approach to Rosa.
