Chapter 27
The jump had been and gone and Rosa still didn’t ask for her bag back, she hoped Dawson had forgotten because thinking about the long treck ahead she knew there was no way she could be able to manage with that load strapped to her. He hadnt seemed to notice so she hoped it stayed that way. It was nearing dark now. The shadows creeping up, they were still in the rainforest but a lot futher and deeper in then she had ever been. The men decided to camp so out of no where they pulled out rolled up hamocks woven from straw plants. Attaching them so they were way above the ground, the men all settled themselves down. Rosa just stood idly, not knowing what to do or where to go. She hadn't brought a hamock of any kind because she didn’t actually own one, the only form of shelter she had was a small tent, that was easily assembled, but she couldnt very well set it up here, the vegetation on the ground was to dense. Looking round sheepishly Rosa spotted Emmerson near the top of the tree, his hamock strategically placed and he was relaxing in it, the others were dotted around on various trees and at different heights. Hitching her pack higher Rosa Began the climb up to the top, using her hands and feet she slowly climbed, arriving at Jays hammock she sent him a smile and his expression just looked amused as she carried on coming up to Drake's she called out 'hey Drake,' as he raised his eyebrow at her and she giggled continuing her climb, she saw Emmerson poke his head out and shake his head in exasperation at her as she smiled innocentley he reached a hand out and effortlessley pulled her into his now swaying hammock. Rosa gulped and looked down it looked quite a height up, she had never been afraid of heights living in her home had seemed normal but in a swaying hammock it was scary. Smiling at Emmerson she snuggled in to his warmth and he chuckeld 'your so innocent' he chuckled as he shifted his body away slightly. Rosa frowned and snuggled further in to him, the wet season was definitely nearly here she thought as she felt a chill go through her. 'Rosa' Emmerson groaned pushing her away slightly 'what?' she asked in a huff, she just wanted a warm bed jeez, sighing in annoyance she moved slightly but as Emmerson relaxed next to her she snuggled in to him again and heard him groan, 'alright fine' she snapped as she moved right to the end of the hammock to give him his space. 'Its not you, you idiot' he whispered pulling her body close and wrapping an arm around her waist. She blushed as she remeberd the thoughts she once had about Emmerson, 'what then?' she asked whispering aslo, she was lying so her back was against Emmerson's torso, and his arm around her waist. 'Blasie' Emmerson whispered the name and Rosa stiffened understanding his words. Glancing around her wearily she saw his tense body above her in the next tree, he was slightly higher so he could see them clearly, Rosa blushed and then subconciously she moved her body away from Emmerson's his chuckle made her realise that he knew what she was doing. 'oh shut up' she huffed slapping his bare torso. 'get in mine' she heard Blaise's gruff voice say, she couldnt see him as clearly now because of the creeping darkness, but before she could retort she saw his large body effortlessley climb out of the hammock and down the tree, watching him confused she peered over the side of her hammock to see him dissapear in to the vegetation below. 'Wheres he going?' she asked confused. 'Dont worry about him, I suggest you make use of the spare bed though' he stated chuckleing. She slapped his chest again 'you could have atleast told me he was watching' she whispered at him angrily. He grinned in response with his eyes closed and an arm slung over them casually and she sighed as she jumped in to the next tree, climbing to the hammock she settled her self down. The hammock was worn and had the delicous lingering scent of Blaise, his woodsy smell assualted her, and she reveled in tit as she drifted of in to a much needed peaceful sleep, her last thoughts being I hope he doesnt come back any time soon.
Rosa woke restless, she was cold and she shivered as a slight breeze ruffled the tops of the trees, she didn’t know why she had woken up but she peered over the side of her hammock to see the others asleep, but she could just about make out the shape of someone at the bottom of the tree, deciding she wouldnt be able to sleep any longer, Rosa silently climbed down making sure to step as silently and not jar any of the others hamocks as she passed Emmerson's she heard his muffled and sleepy voice say 'do 1 Rosa' she frowned at him wanting to slap him again, so much for stealthyness she mutterd, continuing the rest of the way figuirng if Emmerson heard her the others would and by their mumbles and grunts as she passed their hammocks she knew they had, not caring she landed in a crouch on the dense forest floor, now she could see the person a little better, it was almost pitch black down here, where not even the light of the moon could make it down but for some reason she could see Marcos clearly. 'hey' she whispered walking to his side, he didn’t turn to her or even acknowledge her prescence wich she was grateful for, She felt comfortable around him, she didn’t need to fill the silence with conversation and she liked that. Just staring out at the blackness, she sat on the tree stump next to the one Marcos was on, and brought her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around she silently looked out on the wild forest and thought.
