Chapter 13

Dropping her pack to the floor, Rosa slumped down in to an available chair. Sighing she rubbed her temples, there was definitely a migraine coming on. When she didn't hear any noise Rosa looked around her to find the room empty, she stood up sighing again and went to find Raoul. Where had he skulked of too now, the fact that she had sent the others away had made it pretty clear that she wanted to talk, you'd think he would have realized that and stayed. . Following the flow of the house Rosa found her self at the balcony where she spotted Raoul and Rednai, both having a hushed heated debate. Rosa was curious as to what it is was about, but there was no way she could sneak up on them without them knowing she was there, they probably already knew she was stood in the doorway. Sure enough she saw Rednai turn towards her, a devilish smile covering his handsome face, but it didn't quite reach his eyes, they remained curious almost suspicious. Ignoring her inner radar that seemed to have gone off at the sinister look in his eyes. Rosa motioned for the men to come inside.

Once again that same uneasiness crept through her, her body repeatedly forcing her to turn back to face them, they were a threat and she was being stupid backing them. Ignoring her body Rosa once again sat down in the same chair, her pack at her feet, and her makeshift one she pulled off and laid on her lap. Carrying two was hard work.

She waited for the twins to take seats, when they didn't move and just stood arms crossed in front of her, that same uneasiness creeped up again, this time she didn't quite ignore it, shifting her body Rosa was now sat on the edge of the seat, ready to jump up at a moments notice, her fingers securely grasping the pack on her lap and her left foot shifting so it was hooked through the loop handle of the pack on to the floor, if she had to run she could swing up her foot, throwing the pack in the air for her to catch, in order to make a quick get away. All the while keeping her eyes fixed on the men, looking for any signs of movement that could indicate what they were about to do before they did it. They looked tense and suspicious, she wondered what the hell Raoul told Rednai out on the balcony because it clearly wasn't anything good.

When neither moved Rosa thought she'd die from the suspense, obviously something was very wrong, what had she gotten herself in to. They were probably going to have a go at her for leading the men to their homes, each tribes members home was a scared sanctuary that they were fiercely protective over, leading strangers to someones home was a very stupid move on her part, but she hadn't even considered the tribes rules at the time, she had been a little preoccupied, but now she saw the huge mistake that she had made. If Blaise and the men ever intended to harm the twins they would know where they lived, they could set up an ambush lying in wait in the home. Damn she really was reckless she thought, the boys had every right to be mad at her. She would kill someone if they gave people she hated directions to her home, it would be seen as nothing other then betrayal. Hanging her head slightly, but still keeping her eyes on the twins, Rosa cursed again, why were these men scrambling her brain, it was as if since they had arrived she had no sense of right and wrong anymore.

She noticed Raoul's arms twitch and narrowed her eyes at the movement, putting everything else to the back of her head, she flashed back on all her training, trying to remember what would come next, she tightened the grip on her pack and shifted a millimeter more forward, she was ready to spring if she needed. Her movements were noticed by Rednai as he let out a small chuckle, but today it sounding anything but friendly, there was a hard edge to it, as if he was laughing at her efforts, Rosa felt her heart rate pick up, something was very wrong, they weren't behaving as if they were friends but as if she was an enemy, surely what she had done wasn't that bad.

Rosa flexed her fingers on her pack and watched closely as both men's eyes instantly snapped to her hand on her pack, 'good girl' her mind spoke to her, 'now just inch your foot out slightly, keep their eyes on your hand, take your time, it's all about stealth, make sure there distracted.' following her mind's words, Rosa slowly drummed her fingers on the top of her pack, her eyes an intense stare, watching both the twins faces as their piercing gaze's burned through her hand. Millimeter by millimeter Rosa inched her foot, out, so her pack on the floor was secure around her foot. 'Ok, now here's the hard part, don't rush, when it's the right time, swing your foot up, catch the pack, hopefully the Beretta’s still in the top pocket and hasn't been moved by Lavaeu, remember aim and hold steady, you really don’t want to kill anyone.' Rosa's mind raced as she processed everything that was going on, the door wasn't too far, and she was a fair fighter but two angry men was something she didn't quite think she'd be able to handle, lifting her chin defiantly Rosa thought 'i'm not going down without a fight' and with that Rosa propelled herself forward, her leg swinging up, so that the pack was suspended in mid air, her hands shot out faster then she could see and snatched it, her right hand immediately darting in to the top pocket, and gripping hold of her Berretta, but in the next instant, she lay sprawled out on the floor, her pack flying across the room, and her beloved gun sliding along the floor to land at the feet of Rednai. Her head pounding and her vision darkening slightly Rosa tried to focus on the huge weight crushing her. Realizing it was Raoul, his body weight holding her prisoner whilst she attempted to wriggle pointlessly, Rosa decided that the only way she would stand any chance of escaping would be to play along, she needed to wait for the opportune moment.. Strike and run was her next strategy and somewhere in that strategy was retrieving her gun, but she'd come to that when it was time. For now Rosa forced her body to remain lifeless and limp. But something inside her was urging her to continue fighting, fierce and rough it despised being trapped under the weight of a man. Breathing out she commanded her body to lie dormant, very slowly her body gave in.
