Chapter 20

Blaise scented the air, Male shifters he could smell their musky scents, from his prone position, crouched belly to the floor, hidden behind numerous vegetation he had a clear view, of the men. He watched with amusement as they relayed tales of a jaguar attacking young shifters, how his strength and power wre immense but he  had miraculously left the boy alive. The boys must have told the village he thought grimly. He scoffed at that he wasn't going to go around ruhtlessley killing people, no there was one person he wanted and that one person was already dead. Slinking back in to the shadows of the bushes, he padded silently around the perimeter, all the while the animals above quietened down as he approached weary of him, he growled in triumph he was the umtimate predator and everyone feared him. Using his razor sharp claws Blaise skillfully scaled the side of a large tree, effctively bringing him high up in to the thick network of branches, he rememberd the route from his journey here with Rosa, just thinking about the woman had his jaguar roaring at him to turn back and lay his claim to her, but he couldn't not yet, so he continued, with each step he brought forward, the guilt, pain and embarressment that he couldn't have protected Rosa from what happened to her, channeling it in to anger he gradually got closer to the home of Raoul Boudreaux, the one who had hurt his woman, he would make him pay, he would kill him.

Recalling the scent of Raoul, the scent that had clung to Rosa made him growl, low and deadly, he had meticulously removed that scent from her body by kissing her thrououghly, if she was to bare any scent it would be his he growled. Slinking forward silently his gaze steady and focused on the little hut in fornt of him, he approached like a wraith, his padded paws silent, his strong jaws parted slightly, with his scenses he was abel to pick up that disgustingly familiar scent it was all over this house, he was at the right place, but even as he threw his immense wight against the door effcetively detaching it from where it once stood, he knew no one was home, he would have sensed another male's precsence but the need to destroy him and everything remotely important to him was something he wasn't about to ignore. The scent him him strong, this house was marked, he realised as he casually stalked through it, not caring if he was breaking tribe rules, he snarled as he thought that any regard Raoul had for tribe rules he lost the day he laid a hand on a woman. He couldn't imagine how angry he must have been to hurt a woman, Blaise would never hurt one ever It went against everything in him. He grimaced as he thought about how furious Rosa would have had to have made him in order to provoke that reaction. Reckless he thought again for the hundreth time. That woman was going to give him a heart attack.

Blaise noticed how the scent in the home was different, there was something different about it, he recognized it yet he couldn't quite place what was wrong with it. The anger at remembring the things he did to Rosa suddenly built to a crescendo as he rounded a corner and found the chairs upturned and her pack strewn across the floor, its contents smashed and ruined, he snarled angrily. Swiping at a wooden table near him he growled satisifed as it smashed to splinters, he was beyond angry, stretching to his full height he clawed deep gashes in to the wall he was against, making sure to leave his scent, yes he was challenging the other leapord and yes he would most definitely win. Leaping out on to the balcony he propelled himself towards where the scent led. Obviosuly Raoul hadn't been home since he had attacked Rosa. Blaise couldn't help but think about her, she was probably awake now, with his men, he calmed his churning stomach and the black jealosy that his jagaur was unleashing upon him,she was safe he knew it and he trusted his men, she would be OK. He wished he had stayed until she had woken up, he needed to know what had happened but just thinkihg about what could have possibly caused that reaction had him growling again. What ever she had done she didn’t deserve to be attacked like that. Stopping to scent the air Blaise found tha he had subconciously travellde outisde of the village boundires in to the wild of the rainforest, Raoul's trail went deeper then this, crouching low he began his slow, steady stalk towards his prey,it was time to finish this.
