Zac's POV

We sit on the hood of the car watching the stars. Both girls in my arms, I am really hoping we can move past all this pain. I know it's going take time, but it just seemed like it followed us around.

My fingers caress over both Addison and Serenity backs. "Look a shooting star," Addison says

"Make a wish," I tell her

I watch as she closes her eyes. "What you wish for?" Serenity asked as her eyes opened

"It's a secret not supposed to tell wishes," Addison tells her

Serenity shrugs. "I would wish for happiness and a brighter future."

I kiss her head. "I promise I'll try my best to give you that," I tell her

She smiles. "What we doing for Addisons birthday?"  she asked

"Not this again," Addison says

"We'll have a party at the packhouse," I tell them

"Can I evite my friends?" Addison asked

"Of course it's your birthday, baby," I tell her

"This is going to be a little awkward," Addison says

"Why would be?" I ask

"My friends meeting yours. They don't necessarily have a lot in common," she tells me

"We could hang," I tell her. "I kind of like your style," I say

She smiles. "I hope so, I've been sleeping in your bed the last couple of nights,"

My eyebrows go up as I lean in kissing her sweet lips. "I like your style too." Serenity says, "Maybe I could get some makeup tips from you."

"Sure, I'll do your makeup for my birthday," Addison tells her

"Just once," I tell her

"Why?" Addison asked

I lean back a little so that both of them could see each other "because I like the way she is" I tell her Serenity blushes, Addison smiles "You're both beautiful the way you are" I tell them "Let me get you two home"

I slide off the car and then help Addison and Serenity down. "Can we both sit in the front seat?" Addison asked

"If you can buckle the seat belt," I tell her

She smiles. "Come on, Seren," she says, going around the car

I get in and watch as she buckles them both into the front seat. She looks over at me with a smile. It helps that her and Serenity together don't weigh no more than fifty pounds on good days. That might be a lie, so don't quote me on it.

"Comfortable," I ask them as I start the car

"I am," Serenity says

Addison smiles. "Of course," she says

A week after Mrs Carson funeral and we were back in school, something changed. Serenity was the first to start showing signs. She was down on the floor again, getting her school books out of her locker. Addison and I waited on her patiently. My arm was draped over Addison as we talked about the dance that was coming up.

"I'll carry your books, baby," I tell Serenity

"Ok," she whispers from the floor, handing me two she already had out.

"Hey Zac," Keefer says, passing by

"Hey," I say

"Well, we be seeing yall at the dance," Lacy asked
