- Jade's POV -

I slammed open the hospital doors and went to the reception desk straight ahead of me, I bumped into people but I wasn't bothered.
She killed my brother, why the hell should I care about anything else?

Me and Ryan haven't always seen eye to eye, but it's little things that keep us together. The bond we had was inseparable, and it pains me to say I only realise that now because he's gone.

"Miss?" I looked up to the nurse behind the counter, I felt my eyes filling with tears getting ready to spill.

"Oh, erm, sorry" I sniffled. "Can you tell me what room Skye is in? Skye Mitchell" I finished, standing up straight and trying to focus.

"Room 213, platform one" she smiled. I turned on my heel and began walking towards the lifts.

After almost five minutes of cheesy elevator music and awkward silence with people I didn't even know, I was a few corridors along from Skye's room. As I turned, I seen Sam perched up against the wall looking almost distraught. I started walking closer, slowing my steps down.

I was scared.

I was scared of how this was going to turn out. I'd already lost my brother, and the police were probably going to find out what's been going on the past week and send me down.

I'm not going down without justice, Ryan didnt deserve to die.

"Jade?" I knew that voice.

Matt, my childhood best friend.

Me and Matt used to be like peanut butter and jelly. A cup and a cake.
Whatever.
I'm trying to explain how close we were. The bond kept running for years until I made that mistake.

I fell in love with him.

At the time he was with Abbie, they were both fifteen and crazy in love. Almost a year later, they broke up, both claiming 'it wasn't working'.
But everyone knows it was, and still is, so much more.

They were in love, proper love. A love that could be seen through their eyes and heard through their words. Matt has the kind of eyes a girl could get lost in so easily. You can tell what he's feeling just by looking at them, Abbie made him so happy.

"Matt" I whispered.

He came over and put his hand over mine, I felt sparks when he touched me.

"What are you doing here?" He asked. I looked up at him before looking away quickly. I could still feel his stare burning through me.

Then I remembered why I was here.

I shrugged his hand off mine and kept walking.

"You can't go to Skye's room!" Sam shouted, blocking the way. I mentally rolled my eyes at him.

"Move, Hastings." I scoffed, pushing him.

"Adam's fighting for his life and Skye's obviously worried sick. Stop being such a selfish bitch, Jade" he spoke sternly, not taking his gaze off me.

Just then Matt came back over and stood next to me, opposite Sam, although I could tell he was refusing eye contact.

I smiled as I thought of a way out.

"Wait, isn't that Adam's doctor?" I said, trying to sound innocent.

Sam's arm immediately dropped and they both turned to look at the empty hallway. I rushed past Sam and opened the door.

"How can you both be so gullable?" I smirked. "I don't even know who Adam's doctor is" after that sentence I sensed Sam was about to flip, so I scattered over to the closed curtain and pulled it over.
