After whatever the fuck happened between Nico and Percy the whole table was tense and we ate in silence. It was pretty awkward not really knowing anyone and not talking but at least Hazel was also new.

"Hey Im gonna go," said Austin grabbing his lunch, "I have a few friends from band."

Kayla chased after him yelling, "Wait up Austin I don't wanna be stuck in all that tension." She turned around and gasped, "No offence to you guys,  you're all pretty cool but yeah."

I rolled my eyes at my cousins, sometimes they had no filter and ran their mouths. I glanced awkwardly around the table searching for any conversation stating topics but I couldn't think of any. Thankfully only a few minutes later the bell rang and we all rushed off to our classes, I had honers biology.

I was studying to become a doctor which meant I hade to have good grades and I had to be perfect and not let the stress get to me. Yeah pretty easy, right?

After finishing my homework I rushed down to the kitchen to see if any adults had made dinner since I was starving. "Hey Aunt Kia! Whats for dinner?"

"Oh hi Will," said Austin and Kaylas mom who was my moms sister. "Im cooking up a pig and making a salad."

"Cool," I exclaimed, "Is there an occasion?"

"Yeah, your dads sisters coming. Remember?"

I thought for a minute before remembering that my dad told me this morning that my Aunt Artia was coming over to stay for a bit. She was unmarried and definitely didn't have any plans in finding a spouse. "Oh yeah. Jeez it been forever since I saw Aunt Artia."

My Aunt Kia nodded in agreement before returning to making dinner. The last time I saw my Aunt Arita was when I was three which was twelve years ago, I hardly remembered her all I know is that she looks nothing like my dad and travels around a lot leading her to become extremely busy and unable to visit us. The only time that we know she's alive is when she calls dad and mom to congratulate them or send us gifts on special occasions.

"Whats that about Aunt Artia?" Said Kayla coming down the stairs.

"She's coming over today," I responded with a hint of excitement in my voice.

"Cool!" Said Kayla, "I haven't see her in years, I wonder what shes been up to?"

"Probably a bit of everything but settling down," I replied half joking.

Kayla shrugged before running off to find something else to do, she probably wanted to work on archery or something like that since the one thing she had in common with Aunt Artia was her archery skills. My dad also was good at archery along with music like Austin and he also went to medical school before meeting my mom and worked as a part time pharmacist back in Texas. I always dreamed of being a doctor and unfortunately it was the only thing I shared with my dad which always made me feel like the odd one out not being good at any "family talents ".

I sighed and walked off hopping for something to do until I heard Oliver scream. I ran upstairs to see him crying on the floor his hand bleeding all over. "What happens Ollie," I said desperately trying to keep my cool as I searched for a first aid kit. "A-A box *hick* filled with *hick* sharp stuff *hick* fell on my *hick* hand!" He cried as I grabbed the first aid kit and sat next to him grabbing bandages.

"Its okay Ollie Im gonna disinfect it kay, remember the bubbly stuff," I lead him over to the bathroom but the moment I pulled out the brown jug of peroxide he started screaming. "NO THAT HURTS NO NO!"

"C'mon Ollie I'll get you a dino for being a good kid if you let me," I tried soothing my younger brother as he clenched his bleeding hand. "F-fine," he stick his hand over the sink and let me dab a bit of peroxide on his hand. I could tell he was desperately trying to hold back even more tears by the time I was done and bandagings his hand.

"Now lets go get you a dino be right back!" I rushed to my room and grabbed the box where I put little prizes for my siblings as bribes snd grabbed a little green Trex.

"Here you go buddy," I said handing him the little dino. Olivers face lit up with joy."Thank you! Im gonna show this to Auntie Artia when I meet her. Do you think she'll like me?"

"Of course she will, whats not to love about you buddy?" My answer seemed to suffice since after that he ran off joyfully down to the kitchen as if he never injured himself.

I wish I could forget things as quickly as younger kids can, life would be so much easier, wouldn't it? I thought to myself, life had never been the same since Michaels death, he was walking over canyon without checking the stability of the bridge and then bridge collapsed killing him. It also didn't help that Lee, my eldest brother, moved away to university in Canada so even though we're close y to where he is we don't see him much.

"Will," I heard my mom calling from the living room, she sounded like she was trying to hold back a sob. "Please come here."

"Yeah what's wrong," the atmosphere of the room was tense and without knowing what was even going on I felt like I was gonna cry.

"Its Lee," said my dad, "he was attacked by a bear and he, he didn't make it."

"What no please no tell me this is a joke no," tears began rushing out my eyes and my mom pulled me in closer letting us cry together. I couldn't do anything but I assumed they already told everyone since they were all in the living room crying.

~

I must have been crying for an hour at least because when the doorbell rang my watch said it was 5:48 and I was helping Oliver with his hand at 4:29.

"I'll get it,"said my father since it was his sister.

I waited until my Aunt came into the living room since I really didn't feel like getting up.

"What happened!" She exclaimed, my dad must have not told her yet.

My mom got up and explained to her what had happened earlier.

"Oh Im so sorry, I could stay for the funeral if you want?" I could tell my Aunt Artia, one of toughest people I know, was on the verge of tears. She really liked Lee since she saw him the most since he was the oldest.

"We, we would like that very much," said my mom to her sister in law.

"Oh no,"said Aunt Kia, "I left the turkey in the oven." With that she ran off probably sub-consistently trying to distract herself from her nephews death. I still couldn't believe that he was dead, I was now officially the eldest in the family which wasn't exactly something I wanted.

At dinner no one talked and no one wanted to hear anyone talk, the only sounds were the occasional sniffle and the clanking of silverware on a plate. I still couldn't believe it Lee my brother, my role model, my best friend, was dead and he wouldn't be back ever.

An: Hey is anyone willing to make a cover I don't know how to and I bet some of you could make better ones than me if I tried, please and thank you
