"So what dragon are you gonna go for?" Liam asks me

"The blue one" I say fully confident "you?" I ask

"I think that red dagger tail that was close to the blue one,I just have this like feeling you know?" He says and I know exactly what he means because I feel it to.

""Just be careful I know a lot of people are gunning for the blue today." Liam says

"Ya I know but I can't shake this feeling that that's my dragon. And Xaden told me the same thing this morning, you guys worry too much." I say

"Need I remind you why?" He responds with a sweet smile, somehow we've moved closer to each other when we've been talking and our noses are nearly touching just as I was about to give in to the sweet temptation to close that gap someone clears their throat and we step back.

"Hey Z" I say smiling sweetly as if nothing happened, his eyes are narrowed shifting between the two of us but he says nothing.

"Be carful today stick together as long as you feel it's necessary but if something is telling you to go opposite ways it's for a reason. I know you'll both be fine and I'll see you on the flight field with your dragon." He leans forward and kisses me on the forehead and leaves

Me and Liam split up immediately, we both got the feeling to go opposite directions so we split ways. I've been walking for about an half an hour trying to follow this pull in my gut when I finally see her in all her glory, she's huge, with dark blue scales with some that shimmer in the daylight and golden eyes. Fucking beautiful. As soon as i go to take a step forward out in to the clearing she's in I hear a female voice in my head

Might want to move out from underneath that tree if you want to live

I'm confused at first but head the warning and run in to the clearing, as soon as I do so a girl leaps from the tree landing where I had just been and two boys following suit in trees close to the other one looking straight at me.

"Thanks for the tip" I mutter out loud

Anytime, she responds with a chortle.

So I'm assuming this is the blue dragon talking to me right? I ask in my mind

No it's the fern to your right. She says in what I think the dragon equivalent is to sarcasm

There is no dragon equivalent, it's just sarcasm

Feisty, I like it. I say back though my mind

I knew you would, that's why I choose you. Now you might want to turn your attention back to the people that want to kill you

Oh right that

The three people come out of the shadows I recognize them all from first wing, the girl was bragging about how the blue dragon "already choose her" and was "already talking to her" but I'm not sure anyone really believed her.

As if I'd choose her my dragon says

"I'm honored" I say quietly smiling

Ya ya now don't go and die on me

The two boys with her might be her boyfriend and friend or something I'm not really sure but I'm pretty sure I've beat them both in challenges before.

"Back off Kane, that dragon is mine!" The blonde yells at me, behind me my dragon who hasn't told me her name yet huffs as if bored with this whole interaction

Luath, but you can call me Lu, she say

"I don't think so blondie" I say back, they've moved closer and are now within talking distance though the boys look like they're about to wet themselves in terror of the sheer size of Lu. It doesn't help that she's barring her teeth at them either.

Would you like me to smile instead

Nope the teeth thing is good, I say back

"Back off, or we'll make you" her boyfriend says and I sigh unsheathing my twin swords

"Well then I guess you're just gonna have to make me." I say and the boys charge

The boyfriend has a sword and the other dude has an axe, they're strong but sloppy, I deflect the blows easily kicking axe dude sending him in Lu's direction. She opens her mouth and that's all it takes for him to go running. Blondie is still watching, like she wants the fight to come down to just us. I've given boy toy plenty of good blows that should've sent him running but he hasn't faltered. He gets a lucky slice across my upper arm but that's all it takes to give me an extra kick, I slide underneath his next blow stabbing my sword through his thigh. He collapses and cries out finally dropping his sword and hobbling off.

Now it's me and blondie, I probably look psychotic with blood dripping from my arm and covering my katanas but it doesn't deter her. She charges with her dagger in hand, amateur I think.

And that is one of the many reasons I did not choose her Lu speaks through my mind

I deflect her first slashes each un-controlled and fueled by emotion, I knock her dagger away and she's defenseless I kick at her knees bringing her to the ground and pant out

"Do you want to leave us alone and go find your dragon or am I going to have to kill you here" she hesitates for a moment then stops struggling, I let her go a moment later.

"This isn't over Kane you'll see" she says ominously as she runs away

Well that was fun, Lu chortles

Glad my near death experiences bring you enjoyment, I say in my mind

Oh please like you could call that a near death experience they barley even touched you, if they would've been close they would have been charred before they could even make a move towards you. Lu says, and it brings a smile to my face

Well I suppose it's time for us to make out appearance

Hell ya it is

We land in the flight field a few minutes later and I dismount, we're one of the first riders back so far and I can't find Liam anywhere.

He's fine Deigh won't let him die, Lu says

"Wait whose Deigh?" I ask out loud

Liam's dragon

I narrow my eyes, she's hiding something I can feel it

I am but you'll find out soon, now go announce us

Not even 5 minutes later and before Im able to go see the healers, a red dagger tail just a tiny bit larger than Lu lands right next to her and Liam slides off its back, probably not the smartest idea but I sprint over to him and wrap him in a hug.

"We made it!!" I say as he spins us around

"Hell ya we did!" He says and puts me down but keeps me close with a hand on my hip.

Glad you both like each other a male voice speaks in my head

I look around confused as Liam does the same, but then my eyes find Deigh and my eyes widen in realization

"Oh" I say and Liam turns to me

"What, what is it?" He asks

"They're mated, Lu and Deigh" I say pointing to them

No wonder the boy is fond of you, I hear Deigh speak through my mind, Liam's giving him the death glare but he just chortles.

Now go do something about your arm, you'll be spending a lot more time with the boy from here on so you can separate for a few minutes. Lu says

"Ok you need to go see the roll keeper, I've gotta go see the healers real quick but we'll meet back here?" I ask

"Ya sure...wait why are you seeing the healers?" He asks

"Just a little scratch, I tell you about it later!" I shout running away so I don't have to answer anymore questions
