"Wake me up if something interesting happens." I grumble to Liam wanting to fall back asleep as we walk to a mandatory meeting Xaden called in the middle of the fucking night. I convinced Liam to carry me on his back once again so I'm currently laying my head on his shoulder trying to catch up on sleep I desperately need. Ask anybody I am no fun when I'm tired.
"Anything for you princess" Liam says sarcastically
"Hey I need my beauty sleep, you know how I get when I'm tired." I state and Liam winces no doubt remembering a few stories from when we were fostered together.
"You're right go back to sleep, your a fucking monster when you're tired." Liam says
"I'm gonna brush past the fact you just called me a fucking monster for right now but trust we will be coming back to that." I say closing my eyes and actually drifting off, feeling safe with Liam.
"Of course we will" he laughs
"Gods you are so whipped Li." I hear a voice say, I fell asleep on our walk out here but we stopped so I started to wake up.
"Shut up" he grumbles back
"Well wake her up we're about to start" the voice I now recognize as Xaden says
"No way am I waking her up you want her up you wake her up." Liam says so to save them the trouble I move and pretend I'm waking up now I yawn and Liam goes to set me down but I whine and get him to keep holding me 1 because it is very comfortable and 2 he smells reallllly good.
"Rise and shine Chlo" Xaden says walking towards the gathering group
"Fuck off" I grumble
"Somebody's tired" Bhodi jokes and Imogen and Garrick laugh
"I hate all of you, truly." I say
"Hey" Liam whines wearing an over exaggerated frown on his face. His ridiculously handsome face. Gods snap out of it!
"Everybody but you of course" I say sweetly kissing his cheek as he smiles at me.
I zone out during the meeting for the most part because I'm not currently having trouble with anything and drift off to sleep again on Liam's shoulder but not being able to shake the feeling I'm being watched by the same eyes I felt on me earlier.

"How many of you are getting your asses handed to you in hand to hand?" Xaden asks
Four hands shoot in to the air, none of which belong to the blonde haired first year Liam Mairi who stands a head taller than everyone else or Chloe Kane who is currently asleep on his back. If this were under different circumstances I would think they are absolutely adorable together but they had the fastest times across parapet and destroyed every opponent on assessment day, if I thought she was deadly on her own with him they'd be unstoppable.

The weeks drag by, Liam and I not getting any closer to any of our squad mates we destroy every opponent we face with ease. It's the last round of challenges before we take a break to practice for gauntlet and I'm so ready.
"Morning Violet." I say to her as I'm in line getting my food for the morning, she's in kitchen duty so we see her every morning and being the polite person I am I greet her every morning. Maybe it's so she can see that I don't necessarily hate her, or show her not all marked ones do. But this morning she wouldn't even meet my eyes... weird.
I sit next to Liam and eat my breakfast like normal, and we go to battle brief it's not until I stand up after battle brief that the first wave of nausea hits and I can barely stand on my feet.
"Woah you ok?" Liam asks catching me concern lacing his voice his eyes moving all over me as if to check for injuries
"Ya, just got really dizzy for a second." I say shaking it off but Liam is unconvinced
"Do you need to go see the healers?" He asks still holding me
"I probably just haven't had enough water today or something." I say back as we cautiously start to climb the steps but as soon as I'm in the hallway the second wave crashes in to me hard. I stumble and almost fall on my face if it weren't for Liam. The dizziness hits me so hard it takes a second to realize I can't see anything, my vision is blurry.
"Ok you are not ok we're going to the healers right now." He says as he helps me stumble through the corridors towards the healer quadrant.
"I can't see, Li I can't see anything! Ah fuck ok, um dizziness, nausea, loss of sight" I say rattling off my symptoms
"Gods I always forget you're a secret healer nerd." Liam says
"I was fucking laced." I say coming to the only logical conclusion
"Like drugged?" He asks
"Ya exactly it the only way to explain all my symptoms unless I'm actually really sick which I doubt because I was fine this morning before-" I pause my brain putting the pieces together easily now
"Before what? What are you thinking, I know you're thinking face." Liam says still practically carrying me
"Fucking Sorrengail" I grit out
We make it to the healers and they inform me I was in fact laced and It should work through my system soon enough but they were going to keep me overnight to observe me. I told Liam to go find Xaden right away because he had to know Violet was poisoning her opponents but he insisted on not leaving my side so he sent a healer to go do it. As it turns out I was supposed to face Violet in our challenge today, how she knew that is beyond me, but that's how she kept winning she was poisoning people to give herself the upper hand.
"I was nice to her, her mom killed my whole fucking family but no, I take the high road and what do I get? A stomach full of laced bacon." I complain the next day to Liam, Imogen, and Bhodi as we wait in line for breakfast even though I'm not getting anything, I'm still a little woozy from yesterday.
"So we're on the same page now?" Imogen smirks and before I can respond Bhodi buts in and says
"No killing-"
"Violet Sorrengail we know." Imogen finishes and walks off, Bhodi following after her. We finally approach Violet's station and Liam gets his food but I walk past
"Do you want anything Chloe?" Violets asks looking guilty but the incident is still fresh in my mind, so is the anger, so before I can think better of it I bit back a response
"Don't ever fucking talk to me again Sorrengail got it" she recoils a bit at the response but I don't care and me and Liam walk away, he's smiling at me when I look at him
"I don't wanna hear it" I say
"I didn't even say anything!" He says back
"Ya but you were going to" I shoot back and he just laughs
