As we walked to Alpha Benjamin's office, my mind raced with worry for Maxwell. Something was definitely wrong with him, and I couldn't help but think it had to do with the letter from Charlotte.
Alpha Benjamin sat down behind his desk and gestured for my father and I to take a seat. "What do you think is going on with Maxwell?" I asked, trying to keep the fear out of my voice.
My father looked at me with concern. "It's hard to say. It could be a number of things. Maybe he's sick, or maybe he's being influenced by an outside force."
Alpha Benjamin nodded in agreement. "We won't know until we get the pack doctor's report. But in the meantime, we need to keep an eye on him and make sure he's safe."
I let out a sigh of relief. It was good to know that they were both taking this seriously and were willing to help in any way they could.
Just then, my phone rang. It was Lucas. "Pan Pan, Maxwell's awake. He's asking for you."
I quickly stood up and grabbed my coat. "I'll be right there."
As I made my way up to Maxwell's room, I couldn't help but feel nervous. What if he was still in pain? What if he didn't remember anything that had happened?
When I arrived, I found Maxwell sitting up in bed, looking much better than he had before. "Pan Pan," he said, relief in his voice. "Thank you for knocking me out. I don't know what came over me."
I sat down next to him and took his hand. "It's okay. We're here to help you. Do you remember anything that happened?"
Maxwell shook his head. "Not really. It's all a blur. But I do remember feeling like something was taking over me. Like I wasn't in control."
I nodded, trying to hide my worry. "We'll get to the bottom of this. The pack doctor is on his way and he'll be able to give us a better idea of what's going on."
Maxwell looked at me with gratitude in his eyes. "Thank you, Pan Pan. I don't know what I'd do without you."
I smiled and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. "You don't have to go through this alone. We're all here for you."
As we waited for the pack doctor, I couldn't help but wonder what was really going on with Maxwell. Was it just a random occurrence, or was it something more sinister? Only time would tell.

After what seemed like an eternity, the pack doctor finally arrived with the other alphas in tow. He was an older man with kind eyes and a gentle smile. He greeted us warmly before turning his attention to Maxwell.
Maxwell explained what had happened to him, and the doctor listened carefully, asking questions here and there. After examining him thoroughly, he chanted something under his breath and I felt tingles going down my spine. The doctor turned to announce his findings.
"I believe Maxwell has been affected by a powerful spell. It seems to have originated from outside the pack, and it was designed to take control of his mind and actions."
I felt my blood run cold. A spell? Who would do such a thing?
The doctor continued. "I was able to break the spell due to Alpha Pandora's quick actions, but I must warn you that it was a very powerful one. Maxwell will need time to recover fully."
Maxwell looked visibly relieved now that he had an answer. "Thank you, doctor. What can I do to make sure this doesn't happen again?"
The doctor looked thoughtful. "I suggest you carry a protective amulet with you at all times. It will help to ward off any future attempts to control your mind. Be aware that although I broke the spell, the caster still has a bond to you. As I am not a witch, I cannot tell you who is doing this so be extremely careful when finding someone to create an amulet for you."
Alpha Benjamin nodded in agreement. "We'll make sure to be careful. Thank you for your assistance Dr. Lee."
Doctor Lee nodded his head and left the room
As we left the room, I couldn't help but feel grateful. Grateful that Maxwell was going to be okay, and grateful that we had such a caring and skilled pack doctor to help us.
But I also couldn't shake the feeling of unease. Who had cast that spell on Maxwell, and why? And more importantly, was there anyone else in the pack who was in danger?
