Barely awake, Lindsey stretched out his arm and was instantly alarmed when he realized that Stevie wasn't in bed. He quickly sat up and looked around the room, but it was empty. He listened for any sound, but heard nothing. Kicking off the covers, Lindsey jumped out of the bed, he checked the bathroom first. He walked out of the bedroom of the rented cabin they were staying at and was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief at the sight of Stevie, sitting by the window, watching the falling snow with a cup of tea in her hands to keep them warm.

"You scared me." Lindsey spoke up, wrapping his arms around her neck, he pressed a kiss to her cheek.

"What did I do?" Stevie frowned, glanced back at him.

"You weren't in bed."

Stevie laughed lightly at that, shaking her head. "The first thing you do is freak out just because I woke up before you?"

"Yeah, well..." Lindsey straightened up and moved to stand beside her, he too looked out the window, his eyes focused on the beautiful scenery in front of them. "We've been in Aspen before, you know."

"I haven't even picked up a pen and paper, Linds, relax." She reached for his hand and brought it up to her lips. "I'm not writing any sad songs this time."

"Do you plan on writing any about how much you love me?" Lindsey grinned, looking down at her, Stevie rolled her eyes.

"Don't push it." Stevie warned, she put away her a cup and rose to her feet. "Are you hungry? I haven't eaten anything yet."

"Always." Lindsey nodded. "Do you need any help?"

Stevie scoffed, giving him a look. "From you? No, thanks."

Lindsey wasn't offended. He wasn't a big fan of cooking still. Giving her a quick kiss, he left, saying that he was going to shower. Alone, Stevie was looking through whatever they had in the fridge for breakfast. Their weekend getaway went by way too quickly and a part of her wished they could stay longer. However, the tour was just a few weeks away and a long vacation was not an option. If she were completely honest, the thought scared her a little. Lindsey told her he was happy with his role, he assured her that he didn't need to be center stage. That she almost believed. But what she was truly afraid of was all of the other things that came with being on the road. While they were on their best behavior right now, she couldn't be sure if things weren't going to change. Alcohol and drugs were a big part of it all. Lindsey was a mean drunk and Stevie could never say no to a line here and there. Likely the worst part was the attention of other men. She couldn't help it that she attracted them like moths to a flame and while she had indulged in the past, she wanted none of it right now. She had Lindsey, she was happy and she was sure what she wanted. Lindsey? Lindsey was going to need some convincing.

"It smells so good." Lindsey reentered the small kitchen, his curls still wet.

"Take a seat." Stevie smiled at him, bringing over a plate of bacon and eggs. "That's all we have left." She said, sounding almost apologetic.

"Trust me, I would eat anything right now." Lindsey assured, picking up a fork. "Mmm, this is the best meal I've ever had." He joked.

Stevie chuckled, sitting down in front of him. "Okay, okay. You don't have to say that. I won't love you any less." Lindsey paused, he looked up, his facial expression gave her nothing. "What's wrong? Did I put too much salt or-"

"No." Lindsey shook his head. "You love me."

"Well, yes." Stevie nodded, confused.

"You haven't... You haven't said that out loud yet."

"Sure I have." Stevie waved it off.

"No." Lindsey repeated, his mouth slowly forming into a smile. "Say it again, but in a normal way."

Is this man serious? Stevie cleared her throat. "My dearest Lindsey, I love you with all of my heart."

"In a normal way!" Lindsey said, laughing.

All kidding aside, Stevie took his hand, his fingers closed around hers. "I love you."
