Stevie turned towards the door, when she heard a knock. She smiled, seeing Lindsey come in. He crossed the dressing room to where she sat in front of the mirror, minutes before the first show of the tour.

"Are you nervous?" Lindsey asked, laying his hands on her shoulder, he began to gently massage them.

"Hell yeah." Stevie nodded, looking at his reflection. "Usually, I'd be knocking back drinks and searching for someone with a bag of coke at this point to keep my mind off performing in front of thousands of people."

"Aren't you glad you're doing this sober? Ish." Lindsey added.

"I'm glad that I'm still sitting in this chair and haven't run out of the room yet." Stevie shrugged.

There wasn't any sort of agreement between them, it happened naturally. It turned out that being with the person she loved was a much better option than trying to substitute her happiness with whatever substance she could get her hands on and think that momentary ecstasy was the same thing. Also, even though they hadn't discussed it yet, Stevie sometimes allowed herself to fantasize about a family with Lindsey. She had put her body through enough, she didn't want to damage it anymore.

"You're going to be great." Lindsey assured, bending down to kiss the top of her head. "Do you want a moment to yourself or-"

"No." Stevie grabbed his hand to keep him from moving away. "No, I want you to walk with me."

Minutes later, a loud bang on the door and a voice on the other side informed Stevie that it was time to head to the stage. As promised, Lindsey was by her side, when they left her dressing room and walked through the maze of corridors until they ended up in the wings. The rest of the band had already taken their places. Lindsey gave Stevie a quick pep talk and a kiss before he went away too.

Stevie emerged onto the stage to thunderous applause, thousands of her fans screaming and chanting her name. All of her nerves disappeared as soon as she took her spot, a wide grin on her face as she looked back at thousands of reasons why she had chosen to be a singer.

"Good evening, Houston!" Stevie greeted her audience and was blown away by the response she received. She looked to her left and saw Lindsey smiling back at her, he gave her a thumbs up and after a few short second the intro to Gold Dust Woman began playing.

Stevie knew it was going to be special having Lindsey back on stage with her. However, she didn't realize how much she'd missed performing with him until she heard his unmistakable sound accompanying her voice. She didn't think she'd have so much fun singing a duet with him again, which the crowd went absolutely nuts over. She didn't know that he still enjoyed the music they'd created together so much, when they played some Fleetwood Mac songs and he got completely lost in them, as if he was transported back in time. She couldn't be happier that each time she glanced at him he was looking right back at her with a smile on his face.

"I, uh-" Stevie spoke into the mic and paused for a moment, trying to catch her breath. "I'm going to go off script for a couple of minutes. I know this wasn't planned, but..." She turned to her confused band, her eyes then settled on Lindsey, who had no idea what was happening either. "I have already introduced you to these incredible musicians, but there's someone in particular..." She pulled back, still breathing heavily. "Who I am so happy to have with me tonight. You're the first one, who believed in me. You're the one, who encouraged me. You're- you're the one, who has always always loved me." Lindsey listened, eyebrow raised, wondering where she was going with it. "I'd like to sing you very special song." She now spoke to her audience. "One, which isn't even on the setlist, but uh-" Stevie faced Lindsey again, hoping that he wouldn't let her make a fool of herself. "I took my love, I took it down..."

The venue was completely silent as Stevie sung the first line of Landslide a cappella.

"I climbed a mountain and I turned around..."

Slowly, Lindsey's fingers starting moving across the fretboard while his other hands picked at the strings. Relief washed over Stevie, when Lindsey joined her with his guitar seamlessly even though he hadn't played that song in years. He didn't realize that he'd walked all the way over to her, standing just a step behind her, while she sang. Lindsey needed to get closer, as close as it was considered appropriate in front of a massive crowd. He wanted to throw away his guitar, grab her and kiss her right then and there, but he was going to have to save it for later.

Once the melody faded out, Stevie turned to Lindsey, she couldn't help the goofy grin on her face. "Thank you, Lindsey."

Lindsey approached the mic stand, his eyes on her. "Thank you, Stevie."

THE END (?)

AN: Thank you all so much for reading this story and for your comments! This story is one of my personal favorites. I thought, I'd leave it here, but I might possibly write a sequel about S&L reuniting with Fleetwood Mac as well. Though, we'd likely get lots more drama in that scenario. Thank you ♥
