Chapter 8

The next morning Leah was still asleep on my chest, it surprised me that nor my brother or sister had clicked onto the fact me and Leah were dating, however Fern could tell them and blow our cover. But if she did she would just end herself in more trouble so hopefully she doesn't. Leah looked so peaceful.
After a while she eventually wakes up. "Tess?" She whispers looking at me
"Morning le" I say
"I'm sorry" she blurts out
"For what?" I ask
"For falling asleep on you. You must of been so uncomfortable" she says
"Le are you joking, I was comfortable" I say
She quickly kisses me and we get out of bed. We get changed into some normal clothes since we were off. Leah goes downstairs and I go into ferns room, she looked sad, "what's up" I ask
"What's up! What sort of a question is that!" She snaps
"Hey! Think about your attitude" I say
"You need to get up for school anyway. You've got 2 more days before the weekend don't get another detention" I say
"No promises" she says
"I see how it is" I say
She gets out of her bed and I go downstairs and get her breakfast prepared. "De, would you mind taking the troublemaker to school?" I ask
"I'll take her, still mad at her huh?" She asks
"Well she hates you, so thought I should punish her more" I say with a slight laugh
Adam walks in "morning guys. Leah and Tessa I was wondering if you wanted to check out this place for mine and Faye's wedding? well Faye is begging I take you Tess and I thought Leah would want to come as well so was just wondering?" He says
"De, you not coming?" I ask
"No, I'm going to hang out here a while. Apparently Harry needs to call me" she says
"Alright" I say
"Sure, I'll go with you Adam. Leah how about you?" I ask
"Yeah sounds fun" she says

Fern stomps downstairs "morning" I say
She gives me a bitchy face "no need for that is there" I say
"What?" She asks
"What is actually up with you lately, no need to try and impress your siblings" I say
"I- I'm not impressing them" she says
"Then who? Is it this Grace person?" I ask
"What- no" she says, her cheeks changing to a shade of red.
"Yeah I'm sure, I totally believe you" I say
"No, I'm being serious, I really don't like Grace. I- I'm not gay" she says
"Okay" I say
"I'm not. I'm not gay" she says
"Okay I believe you" I say
"Me and Grace we- we are just friends" she says
"Okay" I say
"So what time do we need to leave Bubs?" Delilah asks her
"Whenever you can be ars-" she goes to say
"Speak nicely Fern" I say sharply
"Erm,where ever I need to be at school for 9 though" she says
"Okay" Delilah says

After a while Delilah and Fern leaves. Meaning it's just me, Adam and Leah, "so where's this place ad" I ask
"Not too far away. I think it's like 25 minutes from here" he says
"Nice. I might know where what's it called?" Leah asks
"I'm not sure, Faye picked it she just gave me directions" Adam answers
"So you and Faye your totally serious now does that mean I get to be an auntie?" I ask
"You're already an auntie" he says
"Sorry an auntie to my favourite brothers kids" I say
"I'm your only brother" he says
"That's true. But your my favourite sibling" I say
"Well we are actually going to wait a bit" he says
"What why?" I ask
"Well mums back" he says
"But she's in prison" I say
"She got out and now she's living in dad's house, so he's moved in with me and Faye." Adam says
"What!" I almost shout
I look at Leah and I know she knew a bit about my family but now she knew more, "why didn't dad say anything? Does de know?" I ask
"De knows, and he didn't say anything because you've got Fern" he says
"So what! Why is mum fucking harassing him. I don't think I can even call her mum. Why hasn't he called the police!" I basically shout
"Because he can't. He still loves her a lot" Adam explains
"How can you love someone like that!" I say with tears in my eyes.
"Because, I mean well she was nice" Adam says
"Adam. She left when Fern was born. She went onto drugs, she tried to kidnap me. You don't love someone like that" I say
He sighs "I know, but if she died you would be upset surely" he says
"No I wouldn't. At least I have some sort of decency, I hate her. And it's never going to change. She was an awful woman and an awful mother. I can't remember one day when she was there for the full day, you and de didn't have to deal with her like me and Fern" I say
"Look it's not our fault. Dad can't just kick her out" Adam says
"Well if he can't I will. I'll happily deal with her" I say
"No. You can't go back there, not alone" Leah says
"Ad, could you look after fern just until we get back tonight. No going out with friends and stay strict" I say
"Okay!" He says
