After Chemistry class, I walked out of the classroom and then to my locker. I opened up my locker and the pictures of Josh and I were still hanging there as if nothing had happened. I stood looking and admiring them. I still had no clue where everything went wrong. Was I boring? Is that why he didn't take me with him? I wouldn't have minded going to HYPHY with him if he took me with him. My only problem is going with just my friends. I feel as if I'm doing something wrong when he's not with me. Either wise, I'm fine with going to parties and clubs, as long as I'm with him because we would watch over each other. He was making me feel as if he was hiding some sort of part of his life from me. That's what really pissed me off.
I grabbed homework and shut my locker. I couldn't rip down the photos, they meant too much to me. Josh meant so much to me. I walked outside to where my homeroom was. I hated having homeroom outside. It was great in summer because the warm sun and cool breeze felt so wonderful. However, this wasn't one of those days.
I ran outside as the icy cold pouring rain fell from the dark eerie clouds. I could feel the rain collecting and dripping down my face. It was pouring rain and it was almost the end of May. Usually the weather around now was starting to warm up. There should have been an increase in temperature. The sun was supposed to start unveiling itself behind the mystical curtains called the clouds. The skies were supposed to be a bright blue and cloudless for miles. That wasn't the case though. The pouring rain made it hard to look on the bright side of the latest set of issues that phased me. Another downside was that my birthday was in a week, so essentially, I was either going to be single, or dating on my birthday. I hated how everything Josh did always had some sort of effect on me. I could only be happy if Josh was happy too. We were connected.
As I walked up the ramp of the music portable, William, Josh's best friend, walked out of the band portable with Josh. I was somewhat confused though, because they didn't have band though. I continued to walk past them until William called my name.
"Megan! The door's locked and it's pouring! Just come wait in here!" said William as he held the door open for me.
I sighed and decided to go inside. It was either get soaked and catch a cold, or be warm and awkward with Josh. I would have preferred to get sick so I wouldn't have to see Josh for a couple days, but that probably wasn't going to be the smartest idea.
I walked in awkwardly and sat down on one of the portable stairs in the entrance. I could feel Josh's eyes on me and William's too. I put my books down, pulled out my phone, and started furiously messaging Karolina. I couldn't stand the awkward situation, and I needed to rant about it to Karolina as soon as possible.
"Megan! You're soaking wet!" said William.
"Yeah, I know! It's horrible outside! It's just pouring!" I said as I looked up from my phone.
"Yeah, hopefully it's not like this for the rest of the week!"
"Yeah, I know! I really don't want it to rain for my birthday!"
Josh quickly looked at me as I mentioned my birthday and then looked away. He had definitely forgotten my birthday. I was hurt by that, but pushed it aside.
"It'll probably clear up by then!" said William.
"Hopefully!" I replied.
I was glad William was trying to make it less awkward by talking to me. It was good that he still treated me the same despite what had gone on. William was a great friend, and I was glad he was stuck in the room with Josh and I.
"So going to the dance Will?" asked Josh awkwardly.
Josh had reminded me, and what a slap in the face way to remind me of it. William quickly realized and tried to change the subject.
