We walked into religion and then sat down waiting for Mr. S to start the class. Today's class we didn't really do much. We finished watching Prom Night in Mississippi which was actually one of the movies I really did like. I couldn't help but day dream though. I started to imagine next year with Josh. Hopefully, he and I could last until next year and maybe even go to grad together. I pictured the dress I wanted and everything. I even pictured my debut for next year. Although my 17th birthday was this Saturday, I had essentially a year to plan out everything. Knowing how big debut's were in Filipino culture, I had better start planning out everything.

"So are you and Josh doing anything for your birthday?" asked Giselle as she tapped me, waking me up from my day dream.

I looked to her and then Robin and Robyn both turned around looking for an answer.

"Who am I kidding? The both of you are obviously going out on a date!"

Not many people knew of what exactly happened between Josh and I. It was under the radar for everyone and that was perfectly fine with me. The less people that knew about what had happened, the better. Robyn and Robin looked at me.

"Oh, well we haven't talked about it, so there..."

"Maybe he has something planned!" said Robin.

"Maybe, but honestly I don't care if he doesn't do anything..."

"Yeah, but you did something for his birthday!" said Robyn.

"Touche..."

I thought back to April.

---

Josh had his seventeenth birthday in April but he also ended up having hockey that night. I also told him I was busy, so we made plans to hang out the next day because his birthday was on a Friday so we would have Saturday all to ourselves. Secretly though, I had planned a week ahead that I was going to go to his hockey game with his older sister Jessie and then have dinner with the family. I was able to tell Jessie and she had volunteered to drive me there and back. We even bonded together and went shopping for his birthday presents the weekend before. I bought him Fifa Street and Jessie had bought him a hockey jersey. I wasn't sure what team or what player it was, I just knew it was a hockey jersey.

I loved Josh's older sister, she was funny and sweet. She was a lot like Josh too. She was really calm and chill, but of course like every girl we had our moments when we'd just burst. When we hung out at Metrotown, she told me so many stories of Josh and her. She tended to argue with him a lot, well technically just yell at him and then he would just sit and listen to her rant. He would then stay calm and then say something like: "I agree" or "I'm sorry you feel that way" and the argument would end. She felt like an older sister, and I was like a younger sister to her.

The night of Josh's birthday, Jessie picked me up at Robyn's house because I was meant to sleepover there with Robin and Mihika so that I could then hang out with Josh on the Saturday like we planned. Of course I would hang out with Robyn, Robin and Mihika too and then hang out with Josh.

When I got into the car, Jessie had the presents sitting in the back all wrapped up nicely and she also stole one of Josh's hockey Jersey's so I could wear it to his game. When we got to 8-rinks, we ended up catching the tail-end of his game and I watched as his team won the game with a final goal just seconds before the end of the period. I watched as Josh skate into the middle and joined the huge jumping crowd of boys. Jessie and I both laughed and cheered for the boys.
