Gethen's POV

"Welcome to day one of your time with NWN." I told Gisela. "Here is your desk. Fintan has you doing research for stories. Any source is fine. Trix will give you a story idea, and you can research it, then write a brief article on it. Send it over to me or Alvar, and we'll shape it a little more and produce a show with it."

"Okay," Gisela said.

"We have another show in an hour or so. Are you ready for another game night?" I asked.

"Yep," She replied.

"Okay, let's go."

"Hello, and welcome to News with the Neverseen. I am your host, Gethen Ondsinn." I announced.

"And I'm Alvar Vacker." Alvar cut in.

"Today's top story is very interesting, so listen up. We have heard a lot about what happened at yesterday's Eurypterid Races in Atlantis. Today we have brought in a Foxfire mentor, Sir Leander, to tell us more. Welcome!" [A/N: Sir Leander is an actual real elf from the series.]

"Thanks for inviting me," Sir Leander replied. "As many have heard, a rogue eurypterid clawed its way into the stands, giving at least seven elves injuries. However, we have been assured that all will make a full recovery. Some spectators claim it was the most exciting thing they have ever experienced, and others say they will never go to the races again."

"Thank you, Sir Leander. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this from happening in the future?"

"Fortunately, yes," he answered. "Officials are looking into the best way to make these races safer as we speak."

"That's great news." Alvar told the camera. "We have two witnesses to the attack. Please welcome Valin and Damel Kafuta! Tell me, what was your experience in the event? Valin, you may start."

"It was the coolest thing I have ever seen!" Valin nearly jumped out of his chair. "I was sitting back, watching the race. Then suddenly, an eurypterid was in the stands!" he looked away into the distance wistfully. "It was my dream day."

"How many times have you gone to the eurypterid races?" Sir Leander asked.

Valin thought for a second.

"Almost every one," he answered. "I had always hoped I'd see one in the stands."

"Thanks, Valin. Damel Kafuta, what was your experience at the event?"

Damel shuddered. "It was quite scary. I was pretty close to where the eurypterid was, and it looked utterly frightening."
"Thank you, Mr. Kufta. But do not worry, eurypterids are generally friendly. Very few have gone rogue."

Damel's eyes seemed to unfocus. "It was my first time at the races," He whimpered.

"Thank you, Mr. Kufta and Valin. Enjoy the rest of your day. And Sir Leander, thank you for taking your time to teach us about the races. Our next segment relates to our top story. Please welcome Gisela Sencen and Ruy for games!" I clapped.

"Thanks for inviting me," Gisela told the viewers.

"We have a brand new game for the two of you today. It's called 'story racing.' I will read you the headline of an article, and you will tell me if it is real or fake news." Alvar smiled. "Are you ready?"

"Yes!" Gisela and Ruy said in unison.

"Our first headline is for Gisela. Ogres give up their soporidine recipe to the Council.'"

"True!" Gisela shouted.

"That is correct. One point for Gisela!" Alvar said.

"This is directly from Council Times. 'News With the Neverseen spreads false news and propaganda.'"

"True!" Ruy shouted.

"What–No!" Alvar shouted [A/N: From 'Boys Like You' by ITZY XD]

"I assure you, NWN is very reliable and does not spread propaganda. Our current score is 1-0 with Gisela in the lead." I told them.
"Next headline," Alvar announced. He was smiling, but I knew that he was just as shaken as I was. "This is for Gisela. 'The Black Swan announces new members of the order–however, they are too young to become part of the ruling collective. What will the Black Swan do after?' The two of you will have time after the question to answer what you think the Black Swan will do for extra points."

"True!" Gisela shouted again.

"Correct. The score is now 2-0, with Gisela in the lead. Now, for an extra point, what do you think will happen? We will start with Ruy." Alvar said.

"I think that the Black Swan collective will die and there will be no one to take their place." Ruy answered.

"Wow. Very insightful, Ruy. What do you think will happen, Gisela?"

"I think that the Black Swan collective has people in hiding that are ready to take their spots," Gisela told Alvar.

"Very interesting, Gisela. We will look out for that. The current score is 3-1, with Gisela still in the lead." Alvar smiled. "Our next headline is for Ruy. 'The humans become part of the Intelligent Species after the Council found out about Nightfall.""

"True!" Ruy yelled.

"Are you sure?" Alvar pressed.

"True!" Ruy insisted.

"I'm sorry, but that is false. The score stays the same, 3-1 with Gisela in the lead." I said.

"Awww, man!" Ruy frowned.

"Last headline. This is for both of you. 'NWN has proven to be the most reliable on the news network.'"

I pounded the buzzer. "True!" Gisela cried.

"That's correct! The winner is Gisela, with a score of 4-1." I shot Gisela with an award-winning smile.

"Not again!" Ruy cried.

"We have added something special to Neverseen Game Night. PRIZES! Congratulations, Gisela! You have earned an Imparter-pop-socket with Gethen's face on it! How lucky!" Alvar said.

"Thanks for coming. We'll be back after the break." I said and the lights shut off.

"Good game," Gisela told Ruy.

"Not for me," He grumbled, then stalked out of the room.

Gisela muttered something that sounded like, "sore loser," and I struggled to hide my laughter.
