Opaline was yelling at Misty "I haven't seen you all day. What wing of the lair were you in?" yelled Opaline "The entertainment, uh, quarters?" lied Misty "Next time, let me know. I was trotting from room-to-room looking" said Opaline "I must not have heard. Sorry" said Misty"Ugh! Moving on! We've suffered some setbacks. Losing those ponies before I took possession of their Cutie Marks. But I've been hard at work on my new scheme. Wait just one second. You said you were in the entertainment quarters? " asked Opaline "Yes...?" said Misty hesitating "The east entertainment quarters or the west entertainment quarters?" asked Opaline "East?" guessed Misty "That makes sense" said Opaline Misty let out a breath "The west one is where I've been keeping all the spiders. We've got to clean that out. Add it to the list!" said Opaline "About to do the "M.S.C." – Mane Smelody Challenge! My friend Sugar Moonlight tagged me! I'm next!" said Lily into her phone a line had formed behind her "Hey, glam-ponies! Thanks for making today the best day in the history of our little singing salon!" said Pipp taking a deep breath "Success smells great!" said Pipp Posey took out her phone "What's up, trendwatchers! I'm Shutter Snap! Today in trends, everypony in Maretime Bay is lining up at our very own Princess Pipp's salon to do the "Mane Smelody Challenge"! Can you stand the stink?" said Shutter Snap "Hey! Whatcha watchin'?" asked Pipp Jazz quick took Posey phone and threw it into a trash can "Hey!" said Posey "Why did you just trash Posey's phone?" asked Pipp "Umm... everypony should focus on the zen of the treatment when they're here. Phones are a distraction!" said Jazz Posey gave a "Hmph!" has she retrieved her phone from the trash "Why can't I just tell her the truth?" said Jazz At the police station Hitch had set up an course to see how fast he could get out of the station "Speed run! How fast can you get out of a station? Like we practiced" he said to Sparky who was wearing a helmet "You can never be too safe, my tiny buddy. And... go!" he said Sparky ran for the door knocking down all the cones he set up "Typical Sparky. Why even put the cones down, Hitch, you silly safety stickler?" said Hitch as Zipp and Sunny arrives "Hey! You're just in time to see Sparky fail his safety drill with flying colours!" said Hitch "Yeah, why even put down the cones?" asked Zipp "That's what I said. So, what's new?" asked Hitch "We're investigating a mystery, and we found another mystery. A Breezie just randomly gave me this ancient locket. Cool, huh?" said Sunny "Very cool. But what does it do?" asked Hitch "No idea I hope Xavier might have some ideas but I think It's just pretty, . It's more about what the Breezie said. "Nopony is alone who has friends." said Sunny "Hitch, you're great at puzzles. What do you think these are? We think they might be pieces of a map" asked Zipp "Huh. Nothing I recognize. But I can look through the old station archives to see if it looks like any of the maps in there" said Hitch "Let us know, would you? Thanks, Hitch!" said Sunny "You betcha! And if you see Sparky outside, would ya tell him to scoot his boot on in here?" said Hitch "We will!" said Zipp as they left Sparky came back in his scales glowing "That's new. What's up with your scales, buddy?" he asked
" ...and the entire time magic was absent from our realms, the dragons have been slumbering in a deep, deep hibernation. But now that magic has returned, the dragons are awake! As is evident by that baby dragon's mere existence!" said Opaline to Misty she gulped "And my brilliant scheme culminates in an infiltration of the Dragon Land to enchant them and possess them for my own devious uses" said Opaline "Uhhh... Okay, if that's all..." asked Misty "It is" said Opaline "I just remembered I have to get more intel for you! Lots of good info to be shared! I mean, had!" said Misty "Well, don't be long! There's evil hoofnotes and pie charts to go over!" said Opaline as Misty ran out the door Izzy and I ran to Pipp's saloon we had seen the videos and knew something was up "Pipp, we're here to...Sheesharoo! Why does this whole salon smell like stinkthistle?" asked Izzy "Hey, hey, listen, you two!" said Jazz "What's up?!" I asked "Shhh! Pipp's in the back, so I'll just say this now. This stuff Pipp foraged shines hooves like you wouldn't believe, but the smell is—" began Jazz "Stinky! That's why it's called "stinkthistle"!" said Izzy "You know it?" said Jazz we nodded "Mm-hmm. Pipp has foraged the stinkiest plant in all of Bridlewood. If a pony spends a long time exposed to it, she can become used to it" I said "That's why Pipp can't tell!" said Jazz "Yeah, unicorns mostly stay away from it because it is so stinkeriffic!" said Izzy "You mean I've gotten used to it, too? And it's actually stinkier than even I can tell?! These poor customers! Why didn't I just say something sooner?!" said Jazz " Xavier, Izzy, it all makes sense now. But I still feel nervous to tell Pipp the truth. She's worked so hard on her beauty line. What if I tell her and ruin it?" said Jazz "You've got to!" said Izzy "Just knowing how bad it smells would crush her, but knowing that everypony is here for a viral challenge? It would destroy her!" said Jazz I took Jazz by the shoulders "Jazz, if you were part of a viral craze that made you the butt of somepony else's joke, wouldn't you want to know?" I asked "Yes" said Jazz "Good now I got to go Misty called me and said she had something imported to tell me I'll see you late I said
Misty came busting though the doors of the Brighthouse where Sunny, Zipp and I were "Misty!" said Sunny "Check out this old locket" said Zipp "Opaline...! Dragons...! Awake...! Magic...!" said Misty in a panic "Woah slow down Zipp Get her some water! Sunny Get her some room!" I said after Misty had clamed down I asked her "Now, what is going on?" I asked "Opaline's going to descend upon the Dragon lands and enchant and possess them! For evil! And... and... so much more!" Misty explain then stopped and started to sniff "Um... what's that smell?" she asked "Nothing! Just tell us everything' said Sunny with a nervous chuckle "And we'll tell you about what we found, too" said Zipp
"That... was... wild! Ugh! We gotta rest our hooves, girl!" said Pipp to Jazz "Yeah, we've had quite a day. So, listen. Pipper. Pippito. Pipperoo" said Jazz "Mm, you've never called me a nickname. What's going on? You can be honest with me!" said Pipp "Um, well... How to say this? You foraged the worst-smelling plant in the entire forest and made it into an only slightly less smelly lotion" said Jazz "I did?" asked Pipp "Ya did. And then all of our customers today? They turned the deluxe treatment into the "Mane Smelody Challenge"! Because stinkthistle smells so bad, being around it is like punishment for your nose!" said Jazz "Ohhhhh. Oh, no. Oh. Wow! Oh, that makes so much sense! You and everypony were acting so funny today! And I was just used to the smell? Oh, this is bad. Oh..." said Pipp starting to laugh "Wait, so you're not mad?" asked Jazz "It certainly doesn't feel good to be the butt of an entire town's joke. But you know what does feel good? A friend you can be honest with. Friends should always feel safe and comfortable to tell each other the truth. Even when it stinks" Pipp told Jazz "I'm sorry I kept this from you" said Jazz "It's okay. Now, help me drastically slash these prices. For my next "Potion by Pipp", I'll..." began Pipp "Keep it simple?" guessed Jazz "I'll stick to the classics. Oh! I love that for us" said Pipp Izzy then came back though the door "Pipp! Pipp! Pipp! I found it! I found the elusive neutralizing ingredient! Pinkthistle! Fresh from Bridlewood! Give this a whiff!" said Izzy Jazz gave a sniff "Best smell I've ever smelled!" she said "This will keep the shine but erase the smell! And it's all natural! Just like I wanted! Awww, "Potions by Pipp" is saved!" said Pipp "Should I start the social media blast or should you?" asked Jazz "Let's do it together. But with way less stink this time" said Pipp all three of them laughed
