"Pomme fruit" is another word for apples," she then saw a pegasus failing to eat it "Which are being consumed in the exact wrong way!" she said "Pipp! Didn't you promise to guide the ponies through the house so it wasn't a free-for-all?! This isn't anything like how it used to be when I was a filly! Pipp! Pipp? Hmm... I wonder what task she's so focused on now" said Sunny Misty and I walked though the Brighthouse to the wash room Pip hidden in the dark corner Oooooh-hoo-hoo-hoo! I'm gonna get them!" she said we slashed some water in our faces Pipp appeared behind us "Blaaaaargh! Aww" Pipp screamed she got no reaction from us we went to our bedroom and lay down Pipp appeared again "Blaaaaaaaargh! Part two!" she scream "Nope" I said we opening a door to the closet Misty count down "Four, three, two..." we expected Pipp to appeared but nothing happened "you know I was sure" I said to Misty we closed the door and walked away the door give a thud "Ugh! W-Wait, Guys! My hooves got stuck! Come back and I'll try again!" came Pipp's voice behind the door "Aah! I... will... scare... you!" she cried "You know I'm going to get some fresh air" I said "okay see you" said Misty backing inside the Brighthouse everything was devolving into chaos Sunny groaned the yelled "Aah! This is not working! That's it! The Frighthouse is closed!" she screamed finally having enough "Why is everything messed up? We literally just opened our doors! Sunny, what happened?" asked Pipp "It was mayhem! Uh, sorry! Sorry! Here, have an extra apple spice donut while you go!" said Sunny handing a donut to one of the ponies as they left "What the hay, guys?" said Zipp "It just wasn't Nightmare Night" said Sunny "But I worked all day on my ponydrone!" said Zipp "And I spent all afternoon trying to figure out which of my special acorn lights to string!" said Izzy "And we made some great food, Sunny! Well, you did. Made most of it. Okay, all of it. I only helped by getting out of the way. But we did it the traditional way" said Misty "You're all right, but I guess I was just hoping that tonight's celebrations would be... like they used to be" said Sunny "Where did we go wrong?" asked Misty "I don't know, but somehow, we did. It was a total bust!" said Sunny "Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait up! Even with the chaos, I didn't think it was a total bust!" said Pipp "Ohhhhh, but maybe I was also too focused on scaring Misty and Xavier and making the perfect Frighthouse to notice" she said "And I couldn't see anything beyond my lights" chuckled Izzy "Well, nopony could. Okay, fine. I was a little too swept up in my gadgets" said Zipp Hitch came rushing though the door "You guys are... already done your Frighthouse? I missed it?" he asked "No, I think maybe it was me who missed it. Uh, like the point, I mean. I started all this, and putting such high expectations of perfection on something is a recipe for disaster." said Pipp "Oh, tell me about it! I was just so focused on making this the "Best Nightmare Night Scare-a-thon in Maretime Bay Ever" that I forgot to consider Maretime Bay in the first place. What was I thinking? These ponies don't need twenty-seven events to fill a night and make it perfect" said Hitch "Yeah. Not every holiday has to be perfect or exactly the same as it was last time, right?" said Izzy "No, I'm genuinely asking. It doesn't have to be the same, right?!" she said Sunny laughed "No, Izzy. It doesn't have to be. I'm sorry for thinking it had to. I was just looking forward to recreating my special memories. It's just like with Wishday. I cherished the times I had with my dad so much, I guess I just wanted to share them with my best friends" she said "But can't you still, I mean, share your memories but also..." began Misty "Make new ones?" said Hitch "Even though holidays are about traditions, they're also about surrendering to the surprise of what this moon will bring!" said Zipp "And what's more surprising than Nightmare Night?" asked Pipp Zipp pressed a button and fake bats fell all over the place Misty screamed "Got you! Yeah!" said Zipp "You got me! You got me that time!" said Misty they all laughed "The Frighthouse is officially reopened!" said Pipp "Wait where's Xavier?" asked Zipp
I took in the cool night air "The only Holiday the didn't change from the past Nightmare night I said out loud I then heard a pony screaming out my named I saw Posey running towards me "Xavier Xavier you got to do something evil pony stole cute mark" she said talking to fast "Woah slow down Posey now tell me what's going on" said Posey took a deep breath "Oaky so I was in town going to get my costume at Windy's house then this evil pony wearing this cool Alicorn costume I'll admit just stole my cutie mark" she said "Wait stole your cutie mark?" I asked Posey turned to her side so I could see "How wait this pony did she have magenta-purple-coated" I asked Posey nodded "Oh no how did she get here I got to tell the guys" I said in a panic Posey I'm sorry but there's nothing I can do right now but I promise I'll get your cutie mark back" I said "Oh thank you" she said I nodded and ran back to the Brighthouse
Opaline took the stolen cutie mark and placed it on a leaf on her together tree "Excellent. But I'll need more power. Much more. And I know just where to get it" she laughed manically Everypony was clearing up the Brighthouse Sparky ran around "Sparky! Sure hope you're helping, not playing!" Sparky then saw the paper Zipp was investigating and sneeze on it his dragon fire turned it into a map "What did I just say?" said Hitch he then saw the map "Wow! Everypony! Get in here!" he yelled they all ran in "The Isle of Scaly"? t's the Dragon Lands! It's a map that'll take us back!" said Sunny "We can finally warn them about Opaline!" said Zipp "And we better do it soon. Before it's too late" said I said walking in because we have a big problem right now" I said there faces turned to concern
