Chapter 26 Starshine Time

"I have never seen anypony flute-jam like that before!" said Izzy "I got a little carried away. But I had to have some fun while I still can" said Violet "Have fun while you still can? What does that mean?" asked Zipp "Yeah! I like to have fun all the time!" said Izzy  "So do I, Izzy!" said Violet "Violet! Violet! I have an idea! Be right back!  Whoa!" said Comet he zoomed of and came back with cups of coco "Sorry about that. Sometimes, my hooves can't keep up with my brain" said Comet "Comet is our Starlight Ridge cocoa specialist" said Violet "Mm-hmm! Here! Try a few of our favorite flavours! Okay, let's see. We've got, uh, apple oat cocoa, razzleberry cocoa, hay milk cocoa, jumping jellybean cocoa..." listed Comet ...salty cinnamon cocoa, snowflake-shaped marshmallow cocoa, and – my personal favorite – super ice-cold frozen cocoa!" "Oh, uh... Thanks..." I said "You ponies are in luck because today is Starshine Time!" said Violet "YES! Woo-hoo! Starshine Time is my faaaaavorite! It's my fav... Quick question for you. What is it?" asked Izzy "Starshine Time is our special day of fun!" said Violet "Oh, my hoofness! What great timing!" said Sunny "Give us a second, would ya?" Hitch said to Violet then turned to us "While fun does sound fun, let's not forget that there is a shrinking portal that we have to get back to" he said "I totally hear you, but these are ponies we've never ever met before! This is our chance to make friends with them!" I said "Hmmm. Uh... I guess we've got some time to hang. But after that, we're definitely going back" said Zipp "Starshine Time does sound pretty cool" admitted Hitch "And they do musical numbeeeeers!" sang Pipp "Plus, Sunny's probably right. If we're here in Starlight Ridge, it must be for a reason" said Zipp "And what better way to find out what it is than having fun with new friends?" said Sunny "Okay. Starshine Time it is" I said 

We got to doing activities  first was ice skating "Oh, I'm so excited! I love skating!" said Sunny as she and I held hooves and skated together "Uh-oh. I'm not so sure about this" said Izzy "Don't worry, Izzy. You'll do great" said Pipp and she skated off "Whee! I could do this all day!" said Pipp "This is pretty awesome! Aw, yeah!" said Zipp "I feel like I haven't skated in forever! I've missed it so much!" said Sunny "Okay. Come on, Izzy. You've got this" said Izzy to herself but as soon as she touched the ice she slipped "I don't got this!" she screamed and fell over "I can't even do it for a second" Izzy said depressed "It's okay, Izzy. It'll just take some getting used to. Just go slowly" I said Izzy tried again but just fell over again "I'm no good at trotting on this crystal ice, and I'm even worse at skating on it" she said "Don't worry! Whoa! Heh. I've never been good at trotting or skating either" said Comet "Huh? You haven't?" asked Izzy "Mm-mm. I've got my own way of doing it. I call it... Whoa!  Trip-skating!" he said "Well...The name sounds fun" said Izzy "Mm-hmm! Follow my lead!" he said "Oh, yeah! Trip-skating looks more my speed!" said Izzy "Well, let's do it together!" said Comet they started to skated and fall over "Hey, you got it! Whoa, you're a natural!" said Comet the sky then lit up  "What was that?!" asked Sunny "It was absolutely stunning!" said Pipp "Oh, it's... nothing. Just an aurora flare" said Violet "Um, nothing is ever just nothing." said Zipp "Is that why today is called Starshine Time?" I asked Violet nodded "Hmmm..." Zipp thought "So... what activity is up next?" asked Sunny "The ice slide is my absolute favorite thing to do during Starshine Time!" said Violet "As an Earth pony, I prefer keeping all four hooves on the ground" said Hitch "I can't slip and slide by accident if I slip and slide on purpose!" said Izzy sliding down Pipp, Zipp and Misty slide after her "Maybe Sparky and I will just sit this one out" said Hitch "Don't worry, Hitch. We've got Auroricorn magic. We promise we won't let you get hurt" said Violet Sparky took the slide "Okay. If Sparky can do it, so can I!" he started to slide screaming then started laughing "This is so much fun! Whoo! Yes! Here we go!" he said  another Aurora flare went off "Wow! Another one!" I said "They're so gorgeous!" said Misty "I wish aurora flares would happen in Equestria" said Pipp "It seems like the aurora flare happens whenever everypony is having a good time. It's clearly connected to—" began Zipp but Comet cut her off "Equestria? I-I've never heard of it" he said "You've never heard of Equestria?!" I asked "Neigh way!" gaped Pipp "Oh, I have always dreamed of traveling, but I... I've never been allowed to leave Starlight Ridge" said Comet "Wait, what do you mean "allowed"?" asked Sunny "Um..." began Comet "On to the next activity!" Violet Sunny decided to tell Comet a bit about Equestria  "And when we finished counting, we realized there were exactly thirty-five lampposts in the whole area! And, um... that's basically every single fact I can think of about Equestria" said Sunny "Wow! Equestria sounds incredible. I would love to go. Wouldn't you, Violet Frost?" asked Comet "It does sound amazing, but I could never leave Starlight Ridge. It's my home. It's special, don't you think? Even the snow here is known for having magical healing properties" said Violet "Your telling me" I said "That is special" said Pipp "Starlight Ridge is like nothing I've ever seen before. You all are pretty lucky to live here" said Sunny "Yeah, we are... But Equestria sounds like a wonderful place to visit!" said Violet "It is! It's our home! And it has......all of us there! Ta-daaaah!" said Izzy covered herself in snow "Whoa-ho-ho! Izzy! Those are some skills" said Violet "You know, at first, I didn't really like the snow. It's slippy and stuff. But now, it's really starting to grow on me" she said Sparky blow some fire  "And now it's starting to melt on me" she said "Oh! Sparky, buddy, gotta be careful with your magic" said Hitch "It's okay, Sparky! It's a quick fix!" said Izzy a flare went off  "I knew it! Every time we finish doing something really fun, the aurora flare blasts across the sky!" said Zipp "You're right. It makes perfect sense. The flares are attached to the Auroricorns' special kind of cutie mark magic!" said Sunny "Wo-ho-how! What a day! I've had so much fun. Have you ponies had fun?" said Violet "Why won't you talk about the aurora flares?" Zipp said to Violet "The aurora flares? Yeah! They're super special! And so unique, right?! Like, wooooow! When I first saw one when I was a colt, I couldn't believe my eyes! They're incredi-mazing!" said Comet "They sure are! Now, for our next activity, we should... uh..." began Violet  "Okay, hang on one second. Something isn't adding up about this. Why is everypony acting so funny every time we bring up the aurora flares?" I asked "Will you excuse us for one second? We just have to go look at that patch of snow, uh, over there" said Sunny grabbing all of us "I agree with Zipp and Xavier Something strange is going on. I know the Together Tree portal brought us here for a reason, but what is it?" she said "Maybe the reason we were brought here was just to have some fun!" said Izzy  "Yeah. We really did need it after everything we've been through" said Misty "Mmm... Maybe. But could the reason really not be bad for once?" I said  "Hmm... Seems sketchy" said Zipp bells then chimed the Auroricorns gasped "What's with the bells?" questioned Hitch Violet  yawned "You know what? Today has been so great, but..." she began "Uh, right! Yup!" said Comet yawning to  "Time for bed!" he said "Bed?" questioned Zipp "Now? What about all of the other activities?" I asked Violet laughed "You ponies are hilarious! The bell's ringing, so we have to go to sleep now! It was so great meeting all of you!" she said ("Dodging the question I see") I thought "Bye! Thanks for visiting!" said Comet "You should... really go home now. But we did have a really great time with you" said Violet "Aw" sighed Sunny as doors of house closed and bell chimed "That's it? We're done? It was so sudden" said Izzy "It's probably for the best. The portal...  ...must be pretty small by now" said Hitch "Hmm. Yeah. I guess you're right" said Sunny we all made our  way back to the portal it had shriek a bit since we had arrived "Wow. Look how small it is" said Misty "Good thing we came back" said Hitch "No. I really wanted to believe that maybe the portal brought us to Starlight Ridge to have some fun and make new friends, but something tells me that's just not the case" said Sunny "I agree. My detective instincts are tingling. The Auroricorns were acting really strange" said Zipp "And I have a feeling that there more going on then we've seen" I said "Yeah, and they went to bed so suddenly! I mean, I love my beauty sleep, but that is just, like, too much" said Pipp "The portal is getting really small. If we don't leave now, we might not make it through at all" said Hitch we started to debate weather to leave or stay "That would be bad if the portal closed and we couldn't get back" said Misty "What do we do?" asked Izzy "We go back and find out what's really going on" Sunny and I said "But we could get stuck here!" said Hitch "It's a risk that we're just going to have to take. The Auroricorns are our friends now. And if they're in trouble, it's our responsibility to help. If one of us was in trouble, we would do anything we could to help, right?" said Sunny "I may just be getting used to having friends, but I want to be a good one. And that means going back and making sure everything is okay with theYou're right. Nopony is going to be in trouble on my watch!" said Zipp "Mine either!" said Pipp "Or mine" said Hitch "Also me" said Izzy "The Auroricorns are our friends! If they need help, then help is what they'll have!" I said
