Somewhere in the outskirts of the city was a huge luxurious mansion. In one of the rooms of that mansion, the office, a tall dark haired man was sat on the chair of his desk. That man was not anyone else than Maximus Rider, Richard's rival.

He was sat at his desk, his elbows rested on it's surface and his chin leaning on his palm while he was lost in thought. His thoughts were interrupted once his butler entered the office.

"Sir, your wife is back" he announced.

"That early!?" Max stuttered.

The butler nodded with a serious expression, something that warned Max that his wife didn't have good news.

"Tell her I'm waiting in my office" he replied with a stern tone.

The butler nodded again and left the office almost immediately.

A few seconds later Lizzy Rider entered the tired man's office. As Max expected she didn't look very pleased. Lizzy slammed the door behind her causing her husband to jump from his chair in fear and his eyes to widen in shock. For a few minutes there was an awkward silence between the spouces when Lizzy decided to break the ice.

"I can't believe that!" She growled.

Max blinked twice and looked at her in confusion.

"Can't believe what?" He asked.

His wife rolled her eyes.

"Don't you know already!?" Lizzy snapped at her husband.

Max looked at her with an expression of disapprovement before he answered.

"If you still have problems with Roxanne then I can't help you".

Lizzy growled again.

There were two more minutes of silence before the woman continued her complaining and whining.

"She thinks she can have any man she wants! She's just a mere waitress while I'm popular and rich! I should be the one men are drooling over!" Lizzy started yelling.

Max who was used to his wife's crap tried to reassure her the way he used to.

"But baby, you have the best man by your side. Look at me. I'm handsome, wealthy, strong, powerful, what else is that you need?"

Lizzy didn't even bother to look at her husband. Once she did she looked at him as if he was a piece of trash.

"You're not enough! I am popular! I am the singer at the bar! I am the one men should look at! Not her! You're good I won't lie but you're just my husband! I need more than that!" Complained Lizzy.

Max sighed as he saw this coming.

There was almost an hour of awkward silence between them mostly because Lizzy needed to calm down. She then spoke again.

"Not to mention she approached that hottie Richard!" She mumbled.

Max perked up.

"She got who?" He asked in disbelief.

"Richard. You know Richard Lawrence? Your rival?"

Max felt his anger building up. He slammed his feasts on his desk.

"That bastard had the courage to visit my bar!? The bar I own!?" He growled.

"It was raining that night what was he supposed to do!?" Lizzy tried to justify him.

Max was done. He slammed his fists again on his desk.

"That piece of garbage has no right stepping into my bar! And you try to justify him!? How rude of you knowing you're my wife!" He yelled at his spouce.

"Let me remind you, my dear Maximus, that the bar is open" Lizzy tried to explain but was cut off.

"In the end you'll tell me you fell for him! Tell me, did he do anything to you?" Asked Max I'm fury.

Lizzy just made a 'hmph' sound before she replied.

"He seemed to be more into me than you are" she replied mockingly to her husband.

"Out now!" Yelled Max. "And if I ever find out something like that again we're done!"

Lizzy then opened the door with an irritated demeanor and once she exited she slammed the door behind her.

Max was now left alone again in his office. He stood up and approached his bookshelf. He opened the cupboard beneath the furniture and grabbed a bottle of hard liquor and a glass. After he slammed the cupboard closed he sat back at his desk and started drinking accompanied by the memories of his past.

A young man was standing at the doorframe of his father's bedroom. He noticed the spilled blood underneath the door. He followed the bloody trail which led to the bed. The boy took a glance on the bed and saw his murdered father laying on it. The young man's eyes widened. He noticed a paper covered in his father's blood. He took it. It was a letter. The letter read:

Maximus Rider,

I'm afraid I won't be able to forgive you or your family for the destruction of mine. In order for you to pay I slaughtered your father on his bed during his sleep. I hope the sight of his corpse left an eternal trauma in your heart.

Your eternal enemy,

Richard Lawrence

Once the boy read the letter he clenched it in his feast.

"Damn you Richard Lawrence... I'll kill you!" He yelled.
