Richard was leaning back on the chair at his office with his eyes closed in a relaxed manner. He hoped that his rival had already received his threatening letter. He knew that this would mean a war between him and Max. Probably this was the last time he would take a breath. But deep inside he wished for only one thing. To see Roxanne again.

A furious knock on the huge wooden doors interrupted his thoughts.

"Come in" he said with a cold demeanor.

The doors opened and the office entered the person he was hoping to see. Roxanne stepped inside the office and approached his desk. Richard's eyes fluttered open in shock. Once he heard her sweet voice.

"We need to talk" she said sternly.

Richard wasn't used to her cold demeanor. No, he wasn't used to seeing her completely serious and emotionless. Roxanne used to be a woman full of life. Where did that go? Did he actually break her?

"Roxanne..." He called out to his ex lover softly.

Roxanne made a sign for him to stop calling out to her.

"I don't want to hear my name flowing out of your filthy mouth anymore" she said with the same stern tone.

Richard made an expression of pain and disappointment.

"Did I really break you my love?" He asked with the same soft tone.

"Don't call me that!" Snapped Roxanne.

Silence followed the girl's outburst. The mafioso couldn't believe in his eyes. He completely turned the only thing he had against him.

"I'm so sorry Roxanne. I was a fool. No, more than that. I was a complete asshole. I shouldn't have given in to my greedy and lustful desires. You're the only thing I had and I turned you against me" he spoke in an apologetic tone.

"I don't need your apologies Richard. I've been hurt so much in the past that I took my decision. I won't love or trust anyone again" replied Roxanne with a cold, emotionless tone.

At the sound of Roxanne's decision Richard's eyes widened for a second time.

"Baby, love, no! You can't do that to yourself! Just because things didn't work between us it doesn't mean you should treat yourself like that!"

"Enough!" Roxanne snapped once again. "You're not one to tell me what to do and what not to do! You knew what I've been through! Yet you betrayed me!"

The male stayed silent. Then he spoke again in a desperate tone.

"Love please, come back to me. I promise I'll be more careful-" he was cut off by Roxanne.

"We're over Richard. I hope Max is lucky this time" and with that the young woman left slamming the doors behind her.

Her poisonous words rang inside the mafioso's head.

"I hope Max is lucky this time".

What could she mean with that? These words had put Richard's mind in deep thought. Was she so mad at him that she wished for him to be hurt? Even if he knew the fact that this was probably his end he never wished for it to end just like that. He never wished for Roxanne to turn against him. He never wished for her to spit out such words towards him. In the end he couldn't keep anyone close to him.

The night was close. It was time for Richard to leave work. He stood up from his seat and approached the oval mirror across the leather couch in his office. He stared at his reflection.

"We're alone again buddy. Just you and me" he mumbled to himself.

The man was about to make a step away from the mirror when he felt something approaching him from behind. He felt a strange and dangerous aura engulfing him. Soon he felt something piercing his back and his stomach. He vomited blood. Then he heard a familiar voice talking to him in a husky tone.

"What a nice movie Lawrence. This is the end" spoke Max who had stabbed his rival from behind.

Then he pulled out the knife and threw Richard on the floor. Two more stabs followed and the mafioso was done for.

At the same time Roxanne who was now approaching the exit of the building her ex lover was working at had a strange feeling. It was her instinct.

"Oh no..." She whispered to herself.

She immediately turned around and began running towards Richard's office.

A/N: Short chapter again huh? But we're almost done~
