Max was standing before his desk with his eyes widened in shock. Lizzy remained in the room after the awful news she brought to Max.
"Its not what I think it is, is it?"
Lizzy just nodded in response only adding to Max's anxiety and fear.
"We're done for..." Said Lizzy with a hint of sadness in her voice.
It was the evening after the murder of Max's father. Him and Lizzy agreed to meet outside a modern mansion. The girl had been waiting just outside the backyard after she received the coordinates from her husband. After one hour Max had arrived at the spot as well. He got out of his car and he approached his wife.
"Have you brought everything?" He asked.
Lizzy nodded in response and pointed at a certain tool case.
"Good" replied Max.
The couple approached the backdoor after Max had shot three of the security cameras off.
"Give me the lock picker" commanded Max.
Lizzy immediately opened the tool case and pulled out some lock picking tools. She then handed them to her husband. In no time Max had picked the lock of the backdoor. The door opened with a slight creaking and they entered the building.
Max had to shoot some more security cameras inside. After he made a signal to his wife to remain silent they slowly and quietly made their way upstairs.
"His room must be upstairs" whispered Max.
Indeed once they stepped on the final step they heard a loud snoring. Max made another signal to Lizzy to keep quiet. The couple approached the room where the snoring was coming from. Once they reached for that room Max slowly opened the door. As he had predicted, their target was fast asleep on his bed.
"That's him" he whispered. "The man Richard hired to kill my father". Then he made a signal for Lizzy to stay out.
So she did. The young woman remained outside of the room while Max took the tool case and stepped inside the bedroom closing the door behind him. Lizzy heard the door being locked. A few moments passed and she soon heard the deafening screams of the man who was earlier sleeping. She wondered what Max was doing to him.
Some hours later her husband came out of the room.
"Mission accomplished" he said and then he pulled out a plastic bag.
Once Lizzy saw it's content she let out a small yelp. Inside the bag laid the heart of their target.
"Isn't it beautiful Lizzy? This is the fate everyone who messes up with my family faces" said Max with a tone of happiness and sadism in his voice.
After their successful mission of eliminating their target the couple left the mansion with the same manner they entered.
"We must find a place to dump this thing" Max broke the silence in the car as he waved the plastic bag with the heart of his victim.
Eventually they found a nearby river. Max got out of the car and approached it. He tossed the plastic bag in the water and let the rivar drag it away. Little did he know that seven years later a fisher would find it and report about it to the police station.
"Let's hope Richard hasn't discovered it yet" spoke Max after he snapped put of the thoughts of that day.
Just then his butler entered his office holding a peace of paper in his hands.
"Sir! Richard Lawrence... He knows..." He tried to speak as he panted.
Max's eyes widened once again as he grabbed the peace of paper his butler was holding. It was a letter just like the one laying next to the corpse of his father seven years ago. The letter read:
Maximus Rider,
Thought I wouldn't learn about the crime you committed seven years ago? Not only you and your stupid wife slaughtered my family but you also murdered my most trusted man. This time neither of your asses will get away with it. I'll find you Rider.
Your eternal enemy,
Richard Lawrence
