Jaekyung wouldn't have believed him if it wasn't for the mention of the infamous "Seoul". Only Dan had mentioned that place before, and it made sense given the weird clothes and the dialect that man was speaking was the same as Dan's. He lowered his sword, paying attention to Min-Jun as he let out a relieved breath.

Thank you, my lord. I appreciate your benevolence and...

Shut up and speak. Do you know who did this to Dan?

With all due respect, my lord, I have no idea what you're talking about. I just got here and followed the track until it led me here. I had no intention of intruding your home...

Jaekyung raised his sword at him angrily as the man put both of his hands in the air. ―Do you think I'm taking any chances?

My lord, I'm unarmed. You wouldn't possibly...

Try me and you'll see. ―Min-Jun gulped softly, knowing he was on the fine line. ―Tell me who you actually are and I might let you live.

Min-Jun took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. He should've brought back up.

My name is Kim Min-Jun, I come from the city of Seoul just like Kim Dan, and I'm looking for him to take him back. Where is he?

Why should I believe you?

If you let me reach to my pocket you'll see that I have a device just like Kim Dan's.

Jaekyung squinted in his lack of trust and with a gesture indicated his guard to check him. The guard approached Min-Jun, who still raised his hands in the air as he was under inspection in his pockets; perhaps he should've specified which. He was checked in every single pocket of his clothes, smiling cunningly as two devices were pulled out of his clothes. The lord opened his eyes widely now sure he was telling the truth and nodded at the guard, who gave back the devices to the man in no time, going back to the side.

Now that you see I'm honest I have some questions for you, my lord. First, this is not a question, but I want my weapon back, and second: Where is Kim Dan and what happened to him?

[.]

That scene was the last thing Min-Jun expected. Dan looked worse than he ever did, resembling more of a corpse than the man that was forced into a sabotaged machine. The hell had happened with him? He shook his head softly and then took off part of the covers, noticing something.

The hell you think you're doing?

I need to see how bad it is.

Min-Jun ignored the killer stare of that man, opening the bandages carefully only to gag in disgust to the wounds. Not because the stab was deep enough to be of irrecoverable damage to Dan, but the smell and the signals of poisoning were tough to see. His veins were showing up due to the paleness in his body, there were all sort of bodily fluids oozing out of the zone he was stabbed and Dan looked like he was balancing between here and the afterlife.

He had to take him back as soon as possible before it was too late. Taking out both devices, he typed the date needed for them to return, alerting Jaekyung in the process.

Hey! Back off. Get away from him. ―The lord approached rapidly, already unsheathing his sword.

The modern man jumped away, holding tight to the devices. What the hell was going on here?

Look, I want him to live as much as you do. In case you haven't seen, that thing is spreading fast; his only chance is to go back with me. We have the medicine, the equipment, and the people...
