Five months later

Although it had barely opened its doors that Sunday, this museum date seemed to be cute enough to start his free day next to his boyfriend despite the earliness. They were lucky it was the low-season, meaning they could enjoy a moment of privacy without the looming presence of tourists, at least for a while.

The young fighter was looking at the old paintings in front of him as he adjusted the cap on his head, successfully hiding his identity from the very few in attendance at that time of the day. Soon footsteps could be heard on his direction and when he turned around to see who it was, he noticed it was Kim Dan, his boyfriend, who was returning from the restroom quickly enough so they could reach the Joo family exhibit before the crowds appeared.

It's not like Jaekyung didn't knew his family's history like the palm of his hand, he knows most of it actually, but Dan insisted on going there to learn more about "everything he missed". It was funny for him that sometimes it seemed like they still had a lot to cover even if they kept regaining memories from those two months they met in his previous time on Earth; nevertheless, the ones they've built together these last few months since they stablished their relationship were his favorites.

He took a moment to fix the beanie on Dan's head (he gave it to him earlier this month as an advanced birthday gift) before they could continue. He looked attentively around the place for a moment, just before Dan started to guide him through the museum's halls.

Aware of the possibility that he could be ambushed by fans and the press, who constantly hunt him to get a picture at any minute, he maintained his face as hidden as possible as Dan held on to his right hand where his matching bracelet now sat. His father was a little reluctant to give it to him before it was time (he wanted to do it whenever he had his first child as the tradition stated), he assured him the best moment to do so was now, not wait for the "better occasion". He's not planning on having any children yet, and right now he wants to enjoy life with Dan as much as he can in this second chance he has.

Their relationship, although private both by the fighter's new role in this life as a celebrity and his usually kept personality, was blooming like ever. He didn't wanted to expose Dan to the world of the constant harassment from the press, so they'd have to keep it on the low for a while. He could hide him from the world as much as Dan needed, and he was ready to wait as long as he was on his side.

Although taking pictures with his fans and fighting off with paparazzi never bothered him, his boyfriend was new in this, and he didn't wanted to lose such a great person because of something so ephemeral as fame and recognition.

In the exhibition inspired by his long lineage, they saw portraits and documents of his ancestors: warlords, scholars, government officials and royals in the ancient side and businessmen, artists and sportsmen in the recent era. Most of them were gone but not forgotten by the devastating passage of time even if he was unaware that all of this, from the exhibition to his mere existence, was here because of the doctor next to him. 

He squeezed his hand softly as they walked through the decades of people that gave everything for the Joo legcy to continue, smirking upon the doctor's eagerness to skip a couple of centuries towards the 1700's.

―Hyung, you're going to rip my arm off if you keep pulling it like that, what are you even looking for?

―A letter. ―Dan smiled at his boyfriend, holding his hand tight. ―I've heard a lot of things about it.

Their travesty throughout his family's timeline was interrupted when the therapist suddenly stopped in front of a glass box that protected a piece of parchment paper next to an antique writing pencil and a well preserved wedding portrait. In it you could appreciate the details in the wedding attires and the couple looked gorgeous, but the painter's ability to capture the newly-wed couple's confused and even bothered expressions was surely the most captivating essence in the work.
