short valentines day special
You were never a fan of Valentines Day along with Riku, but this was just the both of you being bitter. This year however, was different. You had Kuroo and he was a fan of Valentine's Day — actually maybe fan was an understatement.
On the day of, he gave you one of those big ass red heart chocolate boxes and a little bouquet of roses. For the entire day you had to struggle hefting these things around, dropping the box of chocolates a few times and accidentally feeding the ants. You picked the box up, looked around to see people had seen you but gaslighted yourself and walked away like nothing had happened.
The roses were also a problem. They attracted a lot of attention, something you'd always hated. It felt as if every other second someone was coming up to you asking "omg who gave these to you" and then they'd give you the show of their nostrils as they sniffed the fuck out of the roses.
By lunch, you were a complete and utter mess. When you sat down at the library where Riku had told you to meet him, he screamed. It was a wonder you never got kicked out.
"Oh my god, I thought you were like a crazy killer or something. And what happened to your hair, woman?" Riku put his hand to his chest as if he were genuinely offended."Thanks, that's a real confidence booster," you snapped back as you sat down and threw your gifts on the table.
Riku laughed. "Girl relax I'm kidding, but for real what happened?"
"Kuroo happened. Listen, the guy's great but I'm starting to think he may hate me. I mean look — I've had to carry this shit around all day and it's killing me."
"Clearly," Riku said looking you up and down. He ignored the glare you sent him."Anyway, so I'm ordering my casket and I've left the funeral arrangements to you."
"Oh, goodie!" Riku clapped. "But I don't think Kuroo is gonna be happy losing his girlfriend."
"He'll get over it."
Riku laughed as Kenma joined the table, pulling out a seat next to Riku.
"Kuroo went overboard?" He said.
"A card would have been fine!" You said before slumping your head on your table and crying.
"Yikes, poor girl." Riku said.A few moments later, Kuroo joined the all of you. When he spotted you however, he stood back.
"Woah," he said. "What happened?" He looked genuinely concerned and maybe if you were in a good mood you would have answered him politely and explained the situation, but you were not in a good mood."What happened? Your gifts almost killed me," you cried and slumped your head down against the table once more.
"Hey, I'm sorry," Kuroo whispered as he patted your head. You hadn't expected him to be so serious — you'd just been acting dramatic and though your day hadn't been great, it wasn't awful."What? No—."
"I should have given them to you later," he said, "I'll take them off your hands for the rest of the day. Does that sound good?"
"Really?" You asked him and he smiled.
"Of course. I'd never want to make your life harder." This man was about to make you cry."Kuroo I want you to know I really appreciate the gifts it just—."
"Don't worry I get it." He smiled.
You smiled back. "Thank you."
"Ew." You and Kuroo both looked over to Riku and Kenma who had spoken in unison.
"Get a room," Riku told you.
"You're ruining my game," said Kenma. You and Kuroo both laughed and you felt yourself falling for Kuroo even more. He was so considerate even when you were being whiny. Could he be anymore perfect? And all of a sudden you were also a fun of Valentine's Day.
