EMMA POV:
The sun's rays shone on my face, and I slowly woke up. I was still enjoying the comfort of the bed, and the sheets were so soft and smooth against my skin. I stretched out, savoring the sensation of being warm and cozy. I kept my eyes closed, not wanting to fully wake up just yet. Then I felt a strange touch on my arm, and I opened my eyes. There, staring at me, was Mr. Ryan Gosling.
My heart started racing and my mouth went dry. What was he doing here? I jumped up
"What are you doing in my room?" I asked, my voice shaking.
"This isn't your room, You're in my room."
I looked around, taking in my surroundings. He was right. This wasn't my room. I had no idea how I got here. I struggled to remember the events of the night before, but my mind was a blank.
"I... I don't remember anything, What happened?"
"You..." he started to say, but then he stopped. I could see the hesitation on his face. I felt a wave of panic wash over me. I dropped to my knees.
"I'm so sorry, sir, I don't know what came over me."
I stood up and rushed out of the room, not sure where I was going or what I was going to do. I just knew I had to get away from him, I felt like I was in a nightmare that I couldn't wake up from.
RYAN POV:
As she rushed out the door, I couldn't help but stare at her back. Her figure was petite but curvy, and she moved with an easy grace.
I couldn't stop thinking about the kiss we had shared the night before. It had been so unexpected, and I had been caught off guard. But I was grateful that I had been able to control myself.
I had to admit, though, that she was beautiful. She was unlike any woman I had ever met. I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to know her better.
EMMA POV:
I stormed into the kitchen, my head spinning with thoughts of what had happened.
"Evelyn, What did you put in my drink last night?"
"It was the kids idea,They asked me to do it."she said
I felt a surge of anger. "Did you even stop to think about what you were doing? Do you know what you've caused?"
"I'm really sorry," she said, her voice barely audible.
I didn't say anything. I just walked into the kids' room, not bothering to knock. I needed to see them, to confront them about what they had done. I felt like I was about to explode.
The kids were playing in the room, seemingly unaware of the storm brewing around them. I looked at them, trying to get a hold of my emotions. I knew I had to stay calm, but it was so hard. I just wanted to scream.
"We need to talk," I said, trying to keep my voice calm.
"What is it?" George asked, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Just sit down,"
"What gives you the right to order us around?" Olivia asked
"Please, I just want to talk. I need you to listen."
Finally, they all sat down, looking at me expectantly. I took a deep breath, trying to organize my thoughts.
"Why did you guys want me to leave? Why did you want your dad to fire me?"
"Because we don't like you," Charlotte said
"Why? What did I do?"
"You like our dad, We don't like that."George said
"I don't like your dad,"
"Liar! We heard you talking to him last night." Olivia said
"I wasn't in my right mind then,"
"Whatever," George said, clearly not buying it. "What are you here for?"
I took a deep breath, trying to think of a way to make this right. "Let's make a deal, Let's start over and try to get along."
"We'll never get along with you," Charlotte said, her voice cold.
"Okay, then, Since you all want me to leave, let's make a deal. If, after six months, you still hate me, I'll resign. Are you in?"
They looked at each other, considering my offer. Finally, George spoke up. "We're in,"
"But during those six months, you guys won't do anything to hurt me, right?"
"That's only if you don't cross the line," Charlotte said
"What line?" I asked, feeling a little confused.
"Don't talk to our dad, And don't smile at him. If you do that, we'll be good." Olivia said
I was a little taken aback by their demands, but I agreed. "I promise, I won't do any of those things. But what if he smiles at me?"
"Then you frown back at him, In fact, avoid him as much as possible."George said
"Okay, It's a deal."
"Deal," Charlotte said, her voice sounding almost happy.
"Can I at least hug you guys?"
The kids looked at each other, and then nodded. "Okay," Charlotte said.
"But only quick hugs," George said
"Okay," I said, feeling relieved.
As I hugged the kids, I couldn't help but wish my own family was still here on earth. I missed them so much. I missed my mom's hugs, my dad's jokes, and even my brother's annoying pranks. I had never realized how much I had taken them for granted.............
