EMMA POV:
"Where are you coming from?" Mai asked, her eyes full of concern."From Ryan's office," I said, my voice breaking as I began to cry.
"But why did you go there? You know he doesn't want to see you, right?"
"He's getting married to Joy," I said, my words barely audible.
Mai looked at me, her eyes wide with disbelief. "What? No, he can't be. Are you sure?"
"Yes," I said, my voice barely a whisper.
Mai's eyes filled with sympathy as she pulled me into a tight hug. "Oh no, Come here, dear."
I buried my head in Mai's shoulder, sobbing uncontrollably. I felt like my heart was breaking, like my whole world was falling apart. But Mai's arms were a comfort, and her presence was a lifeline.
RYAN POV:
I stood in front of the mirror, dressed in a simple, casual suit. I looked at myself, my face blank and expressionless. I didn't feel happy. I didn't feel excited. I was getting married to Joy, but I didn't feel like celebrating. It felt like a chore, something I had to do, not something I wanted to do.
The door opened and Phil walked in. "Are you sure you want to marry Joy?"
"I don't have a choice,"
"Of course you have a choice, You can call off the wedding."
I shook my head. "I can't," I said. "It's too late. It's all set. It's too late to back out now."
"Nothing is too late," Phil said, his eyes pleading with me.
"Then I should call off the wedding and marry Emma ??? Hell no! I've made up my mind. I'm going through with this."
"But will you be happy?, And what about your kids? Will they be happy?"
"I don't care," I said as I stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind me.
I got into my car and my driver drove me straight to the church. As I got out of the car, I saw Joy standing at the altar in her wedding gown. I looked around, but I didn't see my kids.
I took a deep breath and walked up to Joy. She smiled at me, her eyes full of love and happiness. But all I could feel was emptiness. I didn't want to be here. I didn't want to do this. But it was too late to turn back now.
I stood next to her at the altar "Where are my kids?" I whispered to Joy, my voice barely audible.
"I don't know, But they'll be here soon, I'm sure."
I nodded, my mind far away. The priest's words were a blur as I thought about Emma. What had I done? Why had I chosen this path? I knew it was the wrong one, but I couldn't turn back now. I had to see this through.
"Is anyone here against these two getting married?" the priest asked, his voice echoing through the church.
I looked around, but no one stood up. The silence was deafening.
Then, just as the priest was about to continue, we heard a voice.
"We are," said a voice from the back of the church. I turned, my heart in my throat, and saw my kids, standing there with Evelyn.
They were holding onto the arm of a man, who looked familiar. I couldn't place him, but something about him seemed familiar.
As they got closer, I saw the man's face. It was the same man from the video. The man who had been kissing Emma. My heart sank.
"What's going on here?" I asked, my voice trembling.
"Dad, we're against you getting married to this woman," Charlotte said,
"Control your kids," Joy said, her voice sharp and angry.
"I'm sorry, Joy,But he can't control us today."George said
"Then why are you against me getting married to her?" I asked.
"This woman is a cheater and a heartless person, She doesn't deserve you."Olivia said
I looked at Joy, trying to figure out what was going on. I didn't understand what my kids were saying, or why they were so angry.
"She set up Emma with this man here," George said, his voice full of accusation.
"What are you kids talking about?" I asked
"Do you have any evidence to back up these claims?Or are you just making accusations without any proof?"joy asked
My kids looked at each other, their faces pale and serious. "We have proof," Olivia said, her voice trembling.
I felt my heart sink. What had my kids gotten themselves into? And what was this proof they had?....
