19- Fix This

Theo was falling asleep in all of his classes today. He was up late thinking about the argument he and Elaine had the previous day. He understood where she was coming from, but he really couldn't give up the fact that his mom could come back. 

He was most definitely not looking forward to therapy today. He knew that it was partner day, and he really didn't want to have a one-on-one conversation with anyone about his problems. The only person he felt comfortable talking to was Elaine but that really isn't an option for him. 

Professor Barclay was annoyed when Elaine walked in five minutes late, and so was Theo. He knew that she had probably been sleeping badly too. He wanted to ask her about it, to comfort her but he didn't quite know where they stood. 

"Ok, Theo you're partnered with Amy today." 

Theo still couldn't stand this girl. He really didn't want to tell her a single thing. 

"I'm so glad we're paired up! I really feel like we get along," Amy squeals sitting next to Theo. 

Theo barely knew Amy and he wasn't planning on changing that. He thought she was a little annoying. He also noticed how Elaine was paired up with another random guy in the room. Which made him more annoyed. 

"I want you to open up to the person you are paired with and really say how you're feeling."

Theo rolled his eyes at the professor. He would rather do anything else. 

"I'll go first," Amy says, flipping her hair.

"Awesome," Theo says sarcastically. 

Amy began to talk about how she hated walking through certain hallways because she had watched one of her friends die there. She almost teared up talking about it. Theo began to feel bad because even though Amy was annoying, she was still a person who went through something horrible.  

"I get that, I feel the same. There are certain places I won't walk," Theo responds back. 

"Oh good, I thought I was crazy."

"Not crazy, I think everyone is doing it. Just not talking about it." 

She nods, looking up at Theo with puppy eyes, "I have a question". 

Theo reluctantly nods.

"Are you single? I've seen you with Elaine McCracken a lot, but I know you guys live together. She's really pretty so I wouldn't blame you, but I haven't seen you guys' kiss or anything, so I don't know what the deal is." 

Theo was a little stunned by her small rant. He wasn't expecting that question during therapy, especially after what they were just talking about. 

"Elaine is awesome but we're just friends."

He didn't want to tell this girl his internal struggle of wanting to kiss Elaine every time she laughed and or smiled. That wouldn't go well and would most likely get back to Elaine.

"Oh ok, that's good to know. Everyone has been wondering. All the guys want her and the girls want- "

Theo cuts her off immediately.

"Who is interested in Elaine?" Theo asked a little too quickly. 

Amy looked stunned. She wasn't expecting him to freak out a little.  

"Oh well, a whole bunch of guys."

Theo sat back, thinking.  He didn't say anything else for the rest of the session. Which led Amy to sit there uncomfortably thinking about why Theo was so upset all of the sudden.
