Elaine had avoided Theo for a whole 12 hours after they went back in time. Elaine was trying to figure out a way to tell Theo that bringing his mother back is selfish.

She felt bad of course, she understood why he wanted to do it. She wanted him to feel happy like he was when she was still around but she knew it wasn't fair to not bring everyone back that died as well.

After wracking her brain, she realized that a plan like that would ruin the timelines and effect literally everything. That was not something she wanted.

After a few classes that next day, Blaise had volunteered to pick up Ralph from school for a half day and bring him over for lunch. Elaine agreed, but only after giving Blaise specific instructions on what to do at pickup time.

She was waiting for them to return in the kitchen, while she was starting to prepare the meal. She was focused on cutting up some broccoli when Theo walked in behind her.  He stayed silent for a while, just watching her but she knew he was there.

"You're avoiding me," he says simply.

"No, I've just been busy."

He scoffs at me, "That's a lie and you know it. Why the fuck are you avoiding me?"

Theo stomps over to Elaine, so he was only about a foot, maybe two away. Elaine sighs and turns around to face him.

"I was just thinking about everything Theo."

"About everything?"

"Yes," Elaine sighs again. "When we went back, it got me thinking."

"I figured that's what you meant. What specifically were you thinking about?"

Elaine hesitated before speaking, "I just don't think this whole thing is such a good idea anymore."

Theo became anxious as the words left her mouth. He really needed her to help him through this. He hated that she had such an effect on him but he couldn't help it.

"This whole thing? You mean saving my mother?"

"I get why you want to bring her back Theo, anybody would understand why. The question is, should we? I mean so many people have died in the last few years, I'm sure their families want them back too!"

Elaine didn't want to yell, it was actually the last thing she wanted but she had no idea how to get her point across to Theo. She just wanted him to understand.

"Well they don't have a time turner to help them."

"I know Theo that's what I'm saying! Having a time turner isn't a good thing, I'm surprised the ministry hasn't caught on yet. Bringing just one person back to life is not fair to anyone who has lost someone."

"Well we can't bring everyone back," Theo mumbles.

"I know, we shouldn't be bringing anyone back at all! It's so selfish and extremely dangerous"

"You just don't get it," Theo says raising his voice. "If your mother was gone, the only person that really cared for you, you would want her back!"

"My mother  is an awful person Theo, I would go back and change that if I could but I won't because that is not how things are supposed to go. Also, you have people now that care about you, I care about you!"

"You're just giving up then, I thought you were supporting me on this! What are you going to do now? Turn me in?"

Theo was really yelling now, his voice echoing through the whole house. It alerted Draco and Astoria who were flirting with each other while they were supposed to be studying. The two of them look at each other concerned.
