Cat Blanc's Forgotten Tale

Lunch date gone wrong

As dusk turned into dawn, birds were chirping and people all around Paris seemed a lot more happy compared to the treacherous night they had just endured. As school started, Mrs. Bustier's class was missing two students. Marinette and Adrien.

"Alya, are you sure Marinette's awake?"

"I'm sure she's just running late as usual Mrs. Bustier. She should be here in a few minutes."

"And Adrien, Nino?"

"I think he was up late last night. He's probably taking it easy this morning."

"Alright I'll give them a few minutes to get to class you can all relax until then"

"Maybe they spend the night together" Nino nudged to Alya

Alya gave him a thumbs up but was thinking about the night Ladybug and Cat Noir had facing Sandboy and how that would have kept Marinette up all night.

"I'm here!"

Marinette sped into the class pushing the door and running towards her seat at lightning speed

"Sorry Ms. Bustier I forgot to set my alarm....again"

"It's alright Marinette, you're 3 minutes earlier than yesterday!"

Marinette opened her bag and pulled out her ipad and noticed that in front of her, Adrien was missing.

"Where's Adrien?"

"Beats me girl. Don't you know his schedule by heart"

"Used to!" Marinette blushed "I've been working on going with the flow."

At that moment, the door to the classroom slowly swung open to reveal Adrien tiredly entering the room with his hair a mess, and large eye bags under his eyes.

"Sorry Ms. Bustier, I couldn't find my notebook"

"That's alright Adrien please take your seat"

Adrien turned to start walking to his seat and saw Marinette waving joyfully at him. He watched as her hand waved and gave her a gentle wave back before turning and putting his head down on his desk.

After that classes went on as usual and then lunch came around. Marinette sat and her lunch table she normally sat at with Adrien and waiting for him as he slowly got around to putting food on his plate and sitting down with her.

"Everything okay?"

Adrien looked at her concerned and quickly nodded as he chewed on some cantaloupe.

"Just didn't sleep well that's all"

"Oh yeah I guess Sandboy must have kept everyone on their toes last night"

"Yeah!" Adrien stabbed his fork into another piece of fruit. "Sandboy"

"So... are you up for doing anything tonight? Maybe swing by my place and we came play some mega strike?"

"Can't, I have a photoshoot tonight for some new apparel father's dropping"

"I thought you didn't model for your father anymore?"

Adrien scooted his chair back

"Yeah well this was one of those can't say no to things father needed."

Adrien stood up and grabbed his plate to bring to the garbage. Marinette followed behind him.

"Adrien, are you sure everything's okay?  You know you can trust me"

"Trust you" Adrien giggled to himself as he threw out the rest of his food and made his way out of the cafeteria.

"Where are you going? Lunch isn't over for another 30 minutes"

"I have somewhere to be. You trust me don't you?"

Marinette looked at Adrien concerned

"Did I say something wrong?"

"Relax Marinette, I'm just going home for the rest of the day. I don't feel too good."

"Okay, well hope you feel better."

Marinette leaned in for a kiss, but Adrien turned his head and made his way out of the school.

Marinette made her way over to Alya and Nino's lunch table

"Nino, did Adrien tell you what his nightmare was?"

"No, but I get it if he doesn't want to talk about it. I don't want to break into his personal business."

"Marinette, you never told me what yours was." Alya said excitedly

"I-uh-well" Marinette thought back to Cat Blanc's grin and his cold, heartless eyes

"Marinette...Marinette! Are you okay girl"

"Oh sorry. Yeah, I was-being chased by a sewing machine that came to life"

Alya and Nino started to laugh. 

"Oh Marinette, I'm so sorry but that's just"

Alya and Nino continued to laugh.

"You're right it is pretty funny"

Marinette started to laugh too.
