Actions over words

By now we had almost finished breakfast, but Castiel was still in his room.
"What is he doing for so long? Did he fall into the toilet?"
There was a moment of silence, then Gabriel rolled his eyes,
"It's Cassie, nothing new"
I continued to eat my sandwich and waited. When we were done there were still only three of us. The others don't seem to be interested in it. So I decided to take a look, I walked out of the kitchen and looked into every room. I arrived at a room that had a poster of Elvis hanging on the wall, it was obvious who this room belonged to.
I knocked and went in, a record player with records from various musicians.
Queen, Asia, Journey, Billy Joel, Elvis, Deep Purple and much more. There were pens and crumpled papers everywhere, I picked one up and opened it. It was a picture of a very beautiful landscape with an indescribably great sunrise.
I was probably so fascinated that I didn't even notice he wasn't here. I paused for a moment and thought, I couldn't think of anything, but I saw something white flashing in the corner of my eye. A paper.
I went to the bed and picked it up,
See you then.
And there was a cell phone next to it, his cell phone. I wondered what that meant and called for Gabriel, he came into the room and I gave him the note.
"It was clear, he always does that when he doesn't like something"
He laughed, but I recognized concern.
Gabriel dropped the note and left the room without saying a word. Castiel hadn't written where he was going, what he was doing, how long he was going to be away and everything that was important. I sat down on his bed and looked around the room again. If that was what he wanted, then I couldn't change it.
So I went back to the kitchen and tried to forget about it.

After a few hours I said goodbye, but Sam stayed with Gabriel. I walked down a side street, Baby stayed with Sam as he drove at night. It was autumn, so it was already dark. I thought of Castiel, it was his favorite time of year. colorful red-brown-yellow-green leaves lay on the wet street.
It rained. It rained..
I stopped and paused, finally crouching down and picking up a paper. And after a few seconds I lay down on a deserted, wet street. It wasn't the same, but it was nice.
I started thinking about him, what he was doing and why he left so suddenly.
My cell phone rang, it was Lisa. I really didn't want to talk to her right now, I just wanted to enjoy the moment. I declined and turned off my phone. I regretted not having taken the picture with me at the time. I got up and went home.

Sam, Gabriel and I were eating at a diner, I was a bit distracted. I heard the two of them talking but I was distracted, I was staring into space and there was nothing in my head. Simply nothing. „Dean?"
Sam snapped in front of my face and they both looked at me questioningly.
Without thinking, I blurted out,
"Why did he leave?"
Sam leaned back and looked at Gabriel, but he leaned forward.
"Just think about it"
I took a sip of my drink and shrugged.
"How long have you been on tour?"
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"How long did you tell him you'd been gone?"
It hit me like lightning. Gabriel must have noticed because he leaned back and nodded slowly.
"You hadn't contacted him" he added.
I stayed silent and Sam chimed in,
"In addition, Lisa opened the door for him at his last appearance and sent him away in a way that was anything but nice."
Crap.
I stood up, threw my share of money on the table and left without saying another word.
I walked away.. just walked away.
I was with Bobby, I needed advice and he's like my father. I told him everything, from the first time I saw Cas to the dinner with Sam and Gabriel. He handed me a beer and collapsed into his couch, there was silence.
Bobby looked at me and shook his head.
"You have failed, my son"
I sat down next to Bobby and tilted my head back.
"Damned"
A minute passed, he stood up and pulled me up with him. He smiled and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Actions over words"
"Actions over words? What is that supposed to mean"
He went away. Great.
Finally I left too, at the same time i blocked and deleted Lisa's number.

March 1967
It had already been 5 months and it was starting to get brighter. Spring had come, the sun illuminated the whole world in yellow, the world was blooming again, including people. There was green everywhere, the trees turned green, the earth between the dirt turned green.
Winter was over and rain was rare now. Everything that reminded me of Cas faded with a season. Still, I won't forget him, I can't forget him. He's everywhere but here and that sucks. Sam moved away, he was tired of living in the bunker.
I didn't stop him, but I still didn't want to come with him. Bobby stayed here, it was safe. It was my usual surroundings. Maybe it was because we never had a permanent home with our father back then. We were always moving around, he was gone and it wasn't supposed to stay that way. But it was probably also because Castiel knew where we lived and I secretly hoped he would come back.
I look for him on the meadow next to the bunker. I look for him every time I come home.
It was painful to be separated from Sam, he was my little brother whom I raised independently. But he had to live to the fullest.
Gabriel was still here, he said he thought it would be nice here, but I think he stayed for the reason I stayed. We haven't talked about Cas since the day I was with Bobby.
We just stopped.

I was lying in my bed and heard loud noises from the kitchen. I got up sleepily and dragged myself to the kitchen.
„Lilith??"
"Dean, I'm sorry, I wanted to make you bacon for breakfast because you've been seeming a little sad lately."
I looked at the floor where the half-cooked bacon lay next to the pan. She had spilled the oil and the stove was still on.
"Lilith, where do those flour stains come from? pretty much everywhere"
She pointed to the table set with hot, good-looking pancakes. I was amazed.
"You're 5, why can you do that?"
She got nervous and wanted to go to the table, but I didn't let up.
"Uncle Castiel taught me," she smiled.
I had to smile, of course he did. I could have guessed that too.
I helped her with the mess and finished the bacon.
It was a flavor explosion.
after breakfast i took Lilith to her first day of school, yesterday was the start of school.
She had a lot of fun and had already won a lot of friends thanks to her open nature. It was so nice to see.
Bobby was there too.
I thought about Bobby and went straight to him afterwards; we talked a lot. He finally told me that he was going to visit his friends on another continent for a long time.
I helped him pack and then said goodbye to him. On the way home I listened to AC/DC.
And then the idea came to me.
