spring 1966/ Dean's point of view
„Dean, you have to be on stage in 5 minutes"
I had a quick drink before we started.
A performance, my performance, our performance. 800 people stood there and waited for me, no for us, we came and sang our songs.
I was so excited I had a real one Thrills, I've been making this for years, though I still get so nervous every time.
I love my fans and my band.
The others played guitar and drums while I sang and holy shit, it did me good.
"Deaan!"
"yeaaa Sammy, I'll come"
Sam, my brother, also in my band, that could get really annoying. I went to Sam, there we were, on a stage, the red curtain was still closed.
I felt the anticipation, it was always an experience. The music went on and the people behind the Stage started screaming, I even heard my name.
"And one, two, three, four..."
The curtain disappeared, the people could be seen, they were very quiet at first, they wanted to listen to us.As the evening progressed, more and more people came. During my breaks, through my window, which was open to let air in, I could hear the fans calling for more listeners.
They liked it.
Sam came running to me in those dungarees, brisk. "Dean, come on. It goes on"
We went to the stage and I started singing my soul out again.
I kept an eye out for cute women in the audience to take with me to my room later.
Everyone was dancing and very excited, there was a girl, oh she was gone now.
there another, she has a partner.
Looking out over the audience, it struck me, a boy, messy dark hair, wearing a Trenchcoat, he was talking to someone, he seemed completely bored, the only one I've seen so far who didn't like my music.
I averted my gaze, the evening was drawing to an end.I helped Sam and the rest of the band to tear it down, it had taken a long time.
"I'll take out the garbage, I'll be right back"
and so I walked out the door, I was about to open the lid of the old bin when I heard something, I went closer.
There he was again, the Trenchcoat boy.
He was talking to the man again, a little older and taller, but also dark hair.
I hid and listened.
"I want to go home, study, the music wasn't even good"
"Castiel, you have to get out, you can't hole up in your room forever, yes she's gone and he's dead, but it's been almost a year, deal with it."
He looked upset, I think I should go back inside, that sounded private.
"Gabriel, you don't understand, you will never understand."
Gabriel and Castiel, interesting.
I went back in and continued to help.It was a few months, I often thought about this Castiel, what happened to him? I didn't see him anymore, nor the other one, who look so serious.
It was late, a cool autumn night, and it had been raining. I went for a walk after our last song, my usual path leading to a wonderful one place led. After a few minutes I saw something, an empty hallway between two houses, a little bit of light shining in and it looked like a shoe.
A shoe?
Maybe a mugging scam.
I'm not allowed to go, but something told me otherwise.
"All right,"
I moved in very carefully Towards the shoe, as I got closer I saw a silhouette, of a man?
Screw it, I took a big step and saw quite clearly, here lay a man.
He was wearing a Trenchcoat, wait a minute? Somehow that sounds familiar to me.
Trenchcoat.I grabbed him and turned him over, it was him no doubt.
He was unresponsive and there was a lot of blood here so I put one and one together and finally decided to go to the hospital.
I picked him up, he was very light, I held one Arm under his squats and the others at his shoulders.
I ran back quickly, there she was, my baby, i put him in the back seat of my impala.
I got in and drove off, the streets were empty, it was late at night too. When I got to the hospital, I took him again and ran in.
"I need help, NOW"
Doctors and nurses came running with a stretcher, I put him on it and they were gone.
I sat down on a chair in a room for people-waiting, a little girl was sitting here alone, and a woman at the end of the room was crying.
I think I'm wrong here.
I still wanted to wait in the room and find out what he had, so I waited.
Hours passed.
Meanwhile I talked a lot with the little Girl, her parents had an accident, she somehow came out unscathed, not a single scratch, but her parents, in a coma.
"Don't you have anyone to go to?"
"No, I don't have a family anymore"
I felt sorry for her, poor girl.A nurse came in:
"Excuse me, you came in with the man, could you come with me for a moment?"
I got up, I told the girl that I will come back.
I followed the nurse and we stayed in a small room, what was going on?
"What happened?"
„I don't know, I went for a walk and I have him found it lying there in a corner"
"Well, he has internal injuries, broken ribs, a moderate concussion, lots of bruises indicative of violence, and very little weight, suggesting he had hardly eaten for at least a few weeks."
I was shocked what the hell?
I saw him a few months ago, he looked like a typical nerd, just with a few problems.
"As long as we don't know, we need to put you on record as the person who will get information and support him if he wakes up, do you feel up for that?"
wait a minute, if ?
if he wakes up.
Who would do such a bad thing to someone?
"Of course I will, and that girl in the waiting room, I'd like to take care of her for a few days"
"Lilith? If you want, but to be sure I need to know your address"
I wrote down my address for the nurse and went back to the waiting room, the security is not that advanced but I take good care of her.
"Lilith?"
She looked up, probably really her name.
"Would you like to come with me? Me and my brother want to eat popcorn and watch a movie today, you must be hungry."
The little one's eyes lit up and she jumped in my arms laughing.
On the way home I thought a lot about Castiel, who was he, what happened and who did this?
I'll be back in the morning and will make sure he stays safe.
I don't know why I cared about him, I didn't even know him, I would have brought any other person there and then I would have left,
but there was something about him.
