Decision

Dean had been traveling with his band for what felt like forever, I had decided to go back home. When Dean got that call it was all such a surprise, it wasn't easy.
He had to leave immediately and I stayed alone in the hotel, but I couldn't hide forever. The time with Dean had probably been good for me because I finally wanted to make it.
To get over everything.
That's why my first step was a little more daring than I thought, moving back in with Gabriel. Gabriel often met with Sam, but he was also in the band and therefore not on site.

I sat on my bed and thought, the last time was complicated, Gabriel left me alone, but he didn't hold back from stupid sayings. I had no idea where to start, talk again? write again ? I thought about it for ages instead of making a decision.
I was probably too hasty, I didn't want to do it anymore, but I couldn't sit around here and do nothing. So I took a blank notebook and started making a to-do list. When I was almost finished, Gabriel came in, I jumped briefly.
He immediately came up to me and pulled my notebook out of my hand.
"Ridiculous," he scoffed.
He walked out of the room with the notebook. Now I lay there, alone and without help, without a plan of what to do.
It was probably fate, I wasn't supposed to get better.
So I rolled over and fell asleep.
In the middle of the day.

Gabriel had been in a bad mood for days, it had been months since Sam and Dean went on tour. It shouldn't take that long, so I decided to call Dean.
It rang and rang.
Nobody answered. He was probably busy doing something, so I left it like that.
I went outside to clear my head, just take a walk around the houses.
I held my trenchcoat tightly with my arms because it was very cold.
I was walking along my usual park path, colorful leaves lay on the path, everything was wet and people were walking with umbrellas.
A fresh breeze blew through my hair and I immediately thought of the starry night with Dean, I smiled.
As if the universe was trying to tell me something, there was a poster hanging on a tree of Dean's Band, Radio Company.
They have a gig in the town next door today.
I took it off and threw it in the trash can.
Not because I was mad.
You don't hang something like that on trees, not in a park. I took a deep breath and exhaled, then sat down on the nearest bench and spent my time watching others.
I loved asking myself questions.
What is his name ?
Does she have siblings ?
Did they sleep well ?
And much more, the world is simply beautiful, full of magic.
But unfortunately also full of misfortune.
I immediately shook off that thought and moved on.

The rain was running down the windows and the air in the bus was very humid. I had been driving for a few hours, people were getting on and off.
I finally arrived after another few minutes, I took a deep breath or two before entering the place where Dean would soon be.
It was a kind of large hall, seemingly specially designed for days like this.
There were also drinks and snacks, it was hardly furnished, but no one paid attention to that anyway except me.
I sat down on one of the free chairs, it wasn't starting for hours, so no one was sitting yet.
My gaze towards the door, someone came in, someone I knew, very well in fact.
"What do you want here ?"
Yes, exactly, it's obviously not Dean.
He sat down next to me and looked at me.
"Sorry, Sam texted me saying he would be here today, so I wanted to watch.", I nodded.
Sam texted Gabriel, but Dean didn't text me.

In the meantime, Gabriel and I ate the fries that he had fetched. I actually never really liked fries, but today they were particularly tasty.
The hall was getting fuller, it would start at any moment.
There was an announcement, dead silence. Gabriel doesn't stop talking, he talked about Sam and Sam and Sam.
Dean stepped forward, a few others behind him. He had a new hairstyle, not necessarily new, but different.
Longer hair, slicked back a bit and some strands hanging over his face.
He smiled, he smiled the entire performance. This time I liked the music, not like I did back then, back when Gabriel and I had the argument afterwards.

It was coming to an end, Gabriel got up and started running, he turned around again and waved me over to him.
I immediately started running and I just followed him.
It was too loud to understand, so we didn't talk, like I was talking anyway.
We arrived at a door, Gabriel took out his cell phone and dialed a number.
He called Sam.
After a few minutes he opened the door, he greeted Gabriel with a hug, but he looked at me with a strange look.
A look I had never seen before.
We both went in, I looked around but didn't see any sign of Dean.
"He is already gone"
I quickly turned around and tried to figure out who it was coming from.
"I guess you're his best friend."
A young woman, short brown hair.
She looked at me strangely.
Probably because I also looked at her strangely. "Anyway, I'm his girlfriend" - she held out her hand to me.
My heart sinks as it skips a beat.
I didn't know why, we were friends, or best friends as she called it. I shook her hand, smiled and walked away.
I forgot to introduce myself, but I didn't care anyway. and what was I doing here anyway ?

When I got home I went straight to bed, it was the middle of the night but I was wide awake. Gabriel left me a message on my voicemail earlier saying he was staying with Sam that night. Served me right, I put on a record and turned on the record player.
I banned myself from even the slightest thought, it wasn't good, but it was necessary for survival. After a while I fell asleep, I slept for a long time. Nearly the whole day.
I only woke up when Gabriel came in and stared silently at me.
I jumped up and sat down.
"We have visitors, there's breakfast."
I threw myself into bed and pulled the blanket over me.
He started laughing, pulled the blanket away and threw it on the floor.
"You're like back then."
Suddenly my mood changed.
He disappeared and I got up.
Too tired to get dressed or get ready, I sneaked into the kitchen.
I came through the door and rubbed my eyes.
I felt eyes on me, I looked up.
Sam and Dean were here, they were here at our table.
"Good morning, sunshine," Dean said,
like he always did. He looked me up and down and started to smile.
"Someone must have fallen out of bed", Sam mocked.
Everyone laughed except me.
No one except Gabriel had ever seen me like that, when I was at the hotel with Dean I always set an alarm so I could get ready before he woke up.
I don't know what I expected, an explanation or something like that.
It was too stupid for me to act like nothing had happened after all these months.
So I went to my room, threw my suitcase on the bed and started packing.
California, I had nothing left to lose.
Everyone lived a wonderful life here except me.
I wanted to change that, I wanted to finally be happy again, but that won't happen here. California and the beautiful weather.
So I walked out the back door without saying anything.
Just a note on my bed.
