The rain poured outside, trying to drench everyone in it's own sorrows in an attempt to feel better about itself.
The girl frowned at the rain. It was a beautiful thing to her, to see all the nature finally getting what it had craved so bad over the dry season but now her plan to walk in the fields was ruined.
She was content enough inside though and turned back inside to the wood cabin. She padded up the stairs, they creaked as she went up, with her linen dress bunched up in her hands.
The rain pounded against the roof, demanding to be let in and dripping loudly when it successfully slipped through the cracks.
She picked up the rusty tin bucket and placed it under the leak smiling to herself.
Walking down the short hallway she opened the door where it smelled rain and wind as the curtains blew around the wide open window.
She climbed into bed next to a sleeping man and tucked herself in.
He pried his eyes open ever so slightly, staring at the girl with a fondness that was about as rare to see as it was for it to rain in the small, dry, town they lived in.
He picked up a piece of her somewhat wavy brown hair and twirled it around his fingers as she turned in his arms to look at him.
He noticed the slight furrow in her brows and looked at the window understanding.
"The suns not out today," She whispered.
"Mine is," He replied with a soft smile staring at her golden eyes.
