Suddenly love wasn't enough.
She woke up day after day with a feeling that could only be described as a shadow that never got enough light.
She never had enough love now.
Love used to fill her to the brim.
Filling every crevice and crack in her brittle bones until the feeling of warmth might burst from her chest.
Suddenly love wasn't enough.
Now her heart felt cold and empty and she couldn't breathe fast enough.
She would try to fill the void day after day as if trinkets were excuses of love.
The warm feeling could never be replicated again though.
It was now less than a wisp of wind.
Less than the breath that rattled her useless, useless, useless lungs.
She still yearned for more than she could ever have.
Suddenly love wasn't enough.
She envied the clouds.
She envied their way of screaming in rage or weeping in sorrow.
The pour of rain as sadness boiled over so hard it drowned the rest of the world.
The crack of the thunder and how it demanded for it to be heard.
For someone to listen. For anyone to hear.
She wanted more and love couldn't give her enough.
Suddenly,
Love wasn't enough.
