~Katniss Everdeen~

I did not get a wink of sleep that night.

My eyes stayed locked on the picture of unsuspecting Lou who had no idea her life was being threatened. I knew that there was enhanced surveillance since the uprising in the District, but I never expected them to go after her while I was here.

Shouldn't they be focusing on capturing the people who organized the uprising in the first place? Or maybe trying to help the hundreds of families who lost someone in the uproar?

But maybe Lou was one of the people who organized it all. My mind flashed back to all of the time she spent out of the house in the months I was home.

I didn't want to think about what they would do to her if they found out she was a rebel.

A short rap on the door signaled that it was already morning. "Up! Up!" Quill yelled from outside the door, "You need to eat breakfast and training is in a half hour!"

Rolling my eyes at the uptight man, I pushed myself off the bed and walked to the bathroom. A small sigh escaped my lips once I saw my deep under-eye bags reflected in the mirror.

Despite having more money than I could ever need, District 8 never had the luxury of hot water so stepping into the steaming shower caused me to let out an involuntary groan. My muscles ached from Finnick and I's fight yesterday and I relished the few moments of peace I would have before doing it all again today.

Eventually, I knew that Quill would come banging on my door again telling me to hurry up so I shut off the water and stepped onto the cold tiles.

Another nice thing about the Capital was its high-tech beauty appliances. To dry my hair all I had to do was press a button, put my head under the dryer, and I would be ready to go in seconds.

After the machine finished, I slipped on my training clothes and Dutch braided my hair into two separate plaits falling just below my chest. Once my shoes were fastened, I could no longer delay the inevitable day ahead and walked out of my room.

Hunger gripped my stomach and I was more than ready to scarf down my food, but when I noticed who was dining with us, my appetite was gone.

"Finnick" I greeted, attempting to sound indifferent to the man I disliked so much.

My only response was a wide smirk, and I knew he was back to his usual taunting attitude.

The moment I sat down Visha and Knox began to go over the strategy for today but I zoned out, too focused on getting food into my stomach.

It was only when the chair beside mine scraped against the floor that I tore my eyes from my plate. The entire room was dead silent as Orion sat beside me and began loading food onto his own platter.
